The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

If you want to bring him over, we'll take him... either now or then. Then you could stay in town. Let us know.

Beard Watch: Day 5

In the continuing saga, last night we were talking with friends after choir. Wife is relaying a story about our college days. When we were there, the dress code did not allow men to have beards (that has since changed). But the men across the street at the seminary could grow beards. So you always could tell when the seminary guys were on campus looking for dates.

I'm standing right there the whole time she was telling this story.

Maybe she's noticed but didn't think it a big enough deal to mention?

Well, so much for ~my~ self esteem...

Seriously tho, she hasn't noticed. She would say something.

If this rain is going to keep up, maybe I'd better do that.

Be over in a few minutes.

Maybe she's just out-playing you... hence the beard story to keep you thinking.

I don't think so. With her track record, no one would believe her if she said "oh yeah, I saw that Sunday..."

Maybe she changed something a while ago and you never noticed, so she's returning the favor? ;)

Are you continuing to shave or are you just going to grow the beard back?

Hehehe, pretty amusing!

Happy puppies wrestling in the yard right now. And I'm eating a yummy, yummy 200 calorie tv dinner. Yum.

I am on a fine rampage ... I have spoken to two Congresscritters' offices, and will try to call three more by the end of the day.

Fortunately, I am represented by relatively conservative Republican Senators (Kay Bailey Hutchinson and John Cornyn) and a strong-borders Republican Congressman (McCaul, who's on the Border Agents case). I also called ultra-libby Lloyd Doggett's office and chewed them out for a time ... that was just for fun.

We must de-fang the "slow bleed" option!
