The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I have no idea what that means, so...

...here's a picture of a dog with a seashell on its head.

Well, I'm thinking that the heart palpitations are hormonal, since I'm getting near 'that time of life'. Neither my regular Doc, nor the Cardio guy could figure out why they were happening. I rarely have them anymore, though, and since the Cardio guy told me there wasn't a problem, I don't worry about it anymore.

I have some Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer Tea. I wonder if it's something similar to the Natural Calm tea you drink.

No, Natural Calm is a "high absorbable proprietary blend of Magnsium Citrate, Stevia and Natural Orange Flavor" that one drinks like a tea. The interesting thing about Tension Tamer or Sleepytime tea is that if OB had one before bedtime it would cause him to sleepwalk. Kind of freaky 'til we figured it out!!

Now that must have been an interesting mystery!

Hehehe...

Naahhh...I don't have the pain-type headache, just the frustration-type headache. :)

A few weeks ago, I had sniffles and a little sore throat for a couple of days. I guess I'm doing okay on the flu front.

Frustration headaches are solvable by a weekend off and a coffee with Baileys!

Glad you aren't getting sick otherwise. I saw many "walking wounded" moms in the grocery store a couple of days ago. Came home and took my vinegar water, I did!

I had to write a C# "proof-of-concept" app that took streaming input from a webcam and displayed that in the same window as a playback of recorded video.

I haven't the slightest idea what you jest said... ya'll scare me...

well... sold my Ruger 10/.22 Wednesday, got muh Marlin 917 V yesterday, and I gave it to a friend at work to "trick" it out...

Gotta Trigger Basics trigger tuh drop in, and a 6.5x22x44 scope tuh top it off... he's gonna free float the barrel, and lap the scope mounts... he's done this with another 917, and shoots a ragged one-hole 5-shot-group at a hunnert yards...

I've got nearly a whole bag of sore throat lozenges. Last time I bought lozenges, most of them ended up stuck together.

Ramius, SOX consultants probably make a mint, enough to "work at will," which is my aim. Now, I don't know if you want to go skiing in Switzerland ... but I'll bet you'd like to go salmon fishing in your swanky new boat, no?

I don't know much about magnesium. I had some recent bouts of heart palpitations that were from extreme stress - relaxation techniques helped.

Is the 917 for hitting groundhogs?

I've got my Dad's old Marlin 336 in .35, a nice rifle. I think well of the brand based just on that gun.

So today I took the flipping day off! I get more annual leave than Big'ol and it accumulates to the point where it's silly to not take a day here and there. Besides, my idiot management wouldn't let me take any time around the holidays. So I slept in, did some cleaning, wrote some bills, ran some errands, and got my hair done.

So there's that.
