The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

size doesn't matter...

Well, I just can't imagine this woman agreeing with you!

Or any woman, for that matter... ;-)

Good evening!

~sip~

No, I don't reckon San Antonio would be so bad...being so close to so many air force bases would seem to make it an adventurous place to peer up into the sky!

I don't. I found the recipe on the 'net. It didn't occur to me to question the sizes because it seems to me these things come in one size...the li'l bricks of Philly cheese, the piles of boxes of Jell-O, the uniform tubs of Cool Whip... but (apparently) they do come in sizes. I suppose the safest bet is to go to a pretty-good-size grocery and get the most common size, if there is such a thing.

Sorry...

Index is the order an item appears in the list: the first item, second item, third item, etcetera. Key is some value the user sets which is unique across the list and identifies the item in some way. Like a user ID or bar code. The confusion is that in C#, sorted lists have keys. But you can't directly say "SortedList.GetByKey". You have to say SortedList.GetByIndex(IndexOfKey). Which is confusing I admit but....

Luke got up to watch the Groundhog. I had to explain that he wasn't likely to see him on "Cartoon Network" (to be fair, he'd checked the Today Show and the groundhog was either gone or not yet on).

From what I hear, he didn't see his shadow.

Worthless varmint.

Corin is predicting "Groundhog Warming"

Country-Style Groundhog
1 groundhog
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. sugar
NOTE:Clean and skin as soon as possible. Remove all sent glands. Cut off head, feet and tail. Cure in cool place by suspending from hook approximately 4 days. When ready to cook, lard according to recipe.

Dress groundhog as for rabbit, removing the small sacs in the back and under the forearm. Soak groundhog overnight in salted water to remove wild flavor. Combine flour, salt, pepper and sada; rub into groundhog pieces. Brown grounhog in hot oil in skillet; sprinkle with sugar. Reduce heat; add 1/2 cup water. Cover; simmer for about 30 minutes or until tender. Remove cover; cook for 10 minutes longer.

Usually he sees his shadow, so generally right, I'd think.
