Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Deee-nied... well snaiged indeed. :-)
Hey... I keep hearing great things about San Antonio. Granted... it's mostly from ~Texans~, so yer mileage may vary... LOL.
But really. Sounds like a great place.
Thanks. ;-)
And it was truly innocent!
Long day fer me, too. Another day, another problem I don't understand, another day of pleasing users whilst ticking off my boss on account of he'd do everything just a *little* differently.
Ah well. I tried, at least.
You're a very bad dwarf today, ain't ya?
Fix the people first. Then the machines. That's what I say. :-)
Hrm...and what definition of "fix" do we get to use?
Some days, I rather like this one:
7. kill, preserve, and harden (tissue) in order to prepare for microscopic study
I spent five hours in a code review. And forty five minutes explaining the difference between an "index" and a "key" to someone who'd presumably been using them for six months...
Workable. :-)
This is the funniest thing I've read in a long time: Why is Elizabeth Edwards waiting until her lights burn out to switch to CFL's???
DU going around and around debating the environmental impact by/of the light bulbs in the Edwards home. :~)
I'm appealing that decision. So, there's that.
Good grief. What a cartoon of themselves they are.
So...what's the difference between an index and a key?
Just kidding. 'Sides, I'm assuming it's what you'd think: the index is kind of a list of contents and the key is...well...a list of what = what, kinda.
At least today I can officially say I've lost four pounds since the beginning of the year. Less than a pound a week, so I'm not speedy, but it's something. If I don't welch out, by late spring I might actually finally get to the goal I tried for three years ago.
As a temporary deal...they do make USB keypads that aren't super pricey. I had one at one point...because the one game I still really like is mostly key controlled. Kind of a sad reason. ;-) But it was a lot easier than carrying around a full keyboard if I wanted that numeric keypad.
I figger it's related to their Walmart phobia and they're afraid to send a staff person...
I can't even fathom the denial of a halfway reasonable request. I've approved things so ridiculously less reasonable than that... I guess I just don't get it.
And I'm not even including TheBalrog's $15,000 Alienware laptop. Number six of six. Four of which he travels with.
Most users, about $3k worth of laptop every two years is pretty standard. I know a lot of places are tighter than that, but they're pinching pennies and wasting dimes.
Gee whiz...that is a HUGE thread.
Wonder how much power they burned makin' all those posts...
Thing is...They bought me the Crackberry I didn't want, and more importantly don't use...but by golly, I have to keep it with me...
So, there's that.
