The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

That's because the Colonel puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes you crave it fortnightly...

With his wee beady eyes, and that smug look on his face "oooh you're gonna buy my chicken!"

Good plan, not using up the memory too quickly, wish I'd have thought of it.

How's the quest for the perfectboatgun coming along?

Just got back from gypsygirl's walk (part II). Brisky windy it was. Bundle up when you go out. Got movies today - the illusionist and the lake house. Hadn't seen any in a while and viewing the titles we remembered why...

By coincidence "The Lake House" just arrived at my place, too. Netflix. I can't even remember what it's about...but one brother recommended it.

I've pretty well decided on this; but haven't gotten up the nerve to spend the dough!

GMTA, no doubt. Didn't recall it, the back blurb sounded interesting. Letters written across the years...

Good Choice, lots of goodies available for it as well. Am all to familiar with the 'that's the one but haven't got it yet' stage of the acquisition process.

Took my walk this morning. Not all the sidewalks in Perfect Village are clear. Solid ice on the 75th street section. It wasn't too breezy this morning...not as breezy as yesterday, anyway.

I got thecar washed yesterday after werk...just in time for more snow next Friday (?). Drat this Global Warming!

Our sidewalks aren't clear either. We just walked in the street and let Gypsy clamber where she wanted. Not too much traffic on the weekend, and Gyps is full of excess energy, she's been sooooo housebound! LSA

Heh. No way I was going to walk on 75th Street, but I did on the other streets.

Yeah, I wouldn't walk on 75th either!! We stayed off our main north-south and east-west drags too. Even though the sidewalks were pretty clear, we would have had to climb over the heaps of ice/snow/gravel at every intersection.

Bring on that Global Warming! LSA

Setting out in about fifteen minutes here...figure it'll take me an hour or so to run errands and that. I'll be over as soon as I get back.

I've pretty well decided on this;

It's a good choice. Have you considered the flat-top version? You can put optics on a rail much easier than on the carry handle. A free float handguard with rails is also handy, as is a fold-down front sight. Of course, all of this adds cost, but also adds flexibility.

Heh. Great minds think alike. We just got "The Lake House", too. Also got "The Guardian". I think I saw on an ad for the DVD that said that there is also a short documentary about Coast Guard Rescue Divers on it!

I was actually thinking of the flat top version. Then I could get a holographic sight along with the fold down one you mention...I think. How does that sound? Thanks.

It sounds great, and will probably weigh several pounds less than my HK91. The Eotech is the gold standard of holographic sights, and a fold-down rear sight is a good investment, too. But it's a free-float foreend that will do the most for accuracy.

Well, didn't watch the lakehouse tonight; saw the illusionist and it was quite good, two thumbs up.
