The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Is he single and from a nice Catholic family? ;-)

Oh, gee whiz...

I just hope they let me do my usual cockeyed prescription...I have a coke bottle lens for the left eye (I'm almost legally blind in that one), but not a complete correction since I just use that eye for reading, and a regular correction for the right. I've had both eyes corrected before, but I can't see with 'em together. I see double, or have even more trouble than usual with depth.

Chinpokomon Executive: You are American.
South Park Toy Store Owner: Yes.
Chinpokomon Executive: Ohhh, you must have very big penis!
South Park Toy Store Owner: Excuse me, I was just asking you what you're up to with these toys.
Chinpokomon Executive: Nothing, we are very simple people with very small penis. Mr. Hosik's penis is especially small!
Mr. Hosik: So small.
Chinpokomon Executive: We cannot achieve so much with such small penis, but you American wow, penis so big, so big penis!
South Park Toy Store Owner: Well aah I guess it is pretty good size.

...should not be seen by anyone...

I'll have 183 square feet of garden space. Woo Hoo! And that's not counting the "ornamental vegetable" beds.

I've been playing around with the VCR and computer. I'm transferring the 1992 Hooters 500 to disk.

You know, if you haven't, you should see Cars, just for the Nascar references.

It's just wrong to have spring fever on January 6.

I've been working in the garage boxing up all the stuff that was left after my garage sale last Fall. I'm taking it to the St. Anne's Thrift Shop next week. It's small toys, some clothes, some housewares and LOTS of books. If the Thrift Shop doesn't take them, there's a program offered through the town called "Hands Across the Sea", that will take used books and ship them overseas. Don't cost me anything; I just drop the books at the Senior Center. Works for me!

That looks like the Green Lantern, Sam. I liked him when I was a teenager, and buying comic books. Don't know why; guess it's cause he wasn't as famous as Superman or Batman.

BTW, How's Jeanne? I've had her on our Parish Prayer list. I'll keep her there, if you'd like. Did the kids make it home for the holidays?

She's doing a little better, thank you very much. She's not well, though, and we're still waiting for a call from the guy at John's Hopkins before figuring out what should be our next step.

I used to read lots of comics as a kid and as a teen, really, I read anything that wasn't nailed down back then. Somehow I missed Green Lantern, though. Was he the one that had Bruce Lee for a chauffeur?
