coulda been worse, imagine if it was an oversized harley doing 100mph hitting the car. much worse impact.

The difference is my Harley riding friends don't generally go that fast in low speed zones. Maybe it's a difference in what they're after from the riding experience over people riding more "racing" style bikes. Or maybe I just generally have less animosity toward the more classic roadster style bikes than the racing style bikes.

I can state that I've been passed by more idiots on Crotch Rockets doing stunts or travelling at unsafe speeds (roughly, 30+mph faster than traffic), or both, than I can count. I've never seen anyone on a Harley travelling down the Interstate at 80+ on one wheel.

That having been said, I can't imagine that anyone popped for 80 in a 25 should retain their license for long, or that anyone could legitimately defend actions like that as 'OK'. We should enforce the laws we have, IMHO,

Amen. I rode for the experience. Granted, I'd open up out on the highway in the desert, straight away open space, to feel "the speed", but most all of my riding was for the openess experience and I didn't need to be doing 80mph to experience it.

I agree with you, but as a lifelong rider, I am more concerned about the lack of riding skill possesed by some Harley posers who buy Harleys to feel manly. Say "countersteer" to a group of Harley riders and one may know what it means. Do the same to a group of sportbikers, and a lot of them could probably describe it. There are posers on sportbikes, too, but the nature of them kills off the idiot much faster.

Beware of those who would divide the motorcycling community in order to restrict it.

Those who own 'eeevil assault weapons' have had to deal with the same from not only the gun control folks, but some of their hunting bretheren as well.

Divide and conquer is an old, but effective tactic.

I have been riding for many, many years. I don't care for the canyon carvers (metric bikes), but from time to time I do like to ride my Harley's hard and fast. However, 80 in a 25 through a populated area......well, this kid was stupid.

Out on the road, nobody around but you but mother nature and the animals...well, you take your chances with many things in life, but you are not putting others in jeopardy.
