When I first heard this story on my way into work, "Final Destination" was precisely the first thing that came to mind.

Who ever thought "Final Destination" was anything BUT a documentary?

Are you kidding. Aviation is the only form of transportation with a perfect record. He haven't left one up there yet.

Hello, Donnie Darko...

[Grumble]...don't get me started on Donnie Darko. All the critics' and IMDb talk about how it is an overlooked classic victimized by the bad timing of being released after 9/11 roped me into watching it one Friday night a few months back.

What a waste of three hours that celluloid Rorschach test was. It's an incomprehensible mess that gives a chance to the quasi-intelligent to say, "If you were as smart as I was, you would understand that it meant..."

I was scheduled on an ill-fated flight in 1975, but a letter from my folks saying they wouldn't be home, kept me from making the trip.

It was 1954 Cessna 195 that went in hard in Pacific Beach, OR, in very bad weather.

God Bless Russ W.!
