Ack! I got very side-tracked... but I think the menu is ready. Smaller crowd, so smaller menu? hah!
This year we’re cooking up:
-honey & orange brined deep fried turkey
-cornbread stuffing with apples/chorizo (also trying something new: I’ll be making some of this into stuffing waffles to pair with the turkey! I think this could be crazy good? or just weird...)
-cranberry relish (this one has grand mariner-type liqueur added)
-mashed potatoes with roasted garlic & mascarpone cheese
-sweet potato & pecan casserole (this is a traditional)
-southern butter pepper biscuits
-giblet & port gravy
we’re still mulling over several veggie options, all easy enough that I can really make them all:
-Alton Brown’s green bean casserole (I finally found one I like)
-brussel sprouts roasted w/balsamic glaze and bacon
-coriander glazed rainbow carrots
-corn on the cob (yep. this one is just for the littles, it’s the one veggie they asked for and they’re not ready for that amazing bourbon corn pudding we tried that was in here!)
-lemon maple butternut squash
dessert: bruleed pumpkin pie & a chocolate silk pie
