Any Freepers in the candy (chocolate) business?

Posted on 11/10/2006 1:53:21 PM PST by Maceman

I have been kicking around an idea for a while, and am now assessing its business feasibility. I'd like to hook up with someone who has experience in sourcing, manufacturing, marketing or distributing chocolate novelties. I am thinking about developing a line of politically themed products, and I'd appreciate a chance to pick your brains.

Feel free to freepmail me if you wouldn't mind sharing a few insights to advance the cause.

Thanks.

Maceman,
My sister-in-law is into making chocolate. There's a big market, according to her, for high quality chocolates from smaller vendors. I can ask her for some info if you'd like. I know that they've been to some conventions and suchlike in Vegas and other places to peddle her wares.

Boutique chocolates. A colleague of mine married into a family that has built a local boutique chocolate empire. It's very, very hip to buy, share, and give their chocolates as gifts. Very hip.

We use only the finest baby frogs, dew-picked and flown from Iraq, cleansed in the finest quality spring water, lightly killed, and then sealed in a succulent Swiss quintuple smooth treble cream milk chocolate envelope, and lovingly frosted with glucose.

You may try this place. They are famous for having the actual size real solid chocolate Moose. I think they are conservatives as well.
