We will never tell you that you are unpatriotic.

We will never tell you that your opinion doesn't count.

We will never waste your lives for power.

We will hold our leaders to a high ethical standard and when they succumb to lust for power, WE WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.

If we forget this, please, please, please, remind us.

We need you to do this. You are America as much as we are. Let's go.

Why don't you all just calm down and listen. This isn't some PR spin — this is the definition of a gracious winner, so stop whining. Democrats may be a lot of things, but they certainly don't want to alienate anyone. This is for real. Why don't we agree to disagree about certain things and work together to make real improvements in areas that really matter, you know, to real people? Screw gay marriage and abortion talk — we're at war, remember? We need to put our focus on rebuilding Iraq, putting a stranglehold on al-Qaeda, and winning this war.

If you don't want to work together with the Democrats to end the war in Iraq, aren't you enabling the terrorists?

See, I think THIS post expresses well the counterpoint that most conservatives are afraid of. Though it appears that the original poster was sincere, the "expansion" of the theme in THIS post is a laundry-list of the feared hypocrisy. No doubt, DU has its own list against the conservatives - and there lies all of the cynicism.
