Dear Dismayed Conservatives (barf alert DUmmie editorial)
Posted on 11/08/2006 11:51:34 AM PST by MetaCon
Dear dismayed conservatives:
I hereby make these promises to you.
We will protect your lives and livelihoods.
We will listen to and respect your beliefs.
We will never try to force you to change your religion, sexual orientation, or first language.
We will do our best to reduce the number of abortions in our country.
We will have no tolerance for corruption and cronyism, even in our own party.
ESPECIALLY in our own party.
We will never tell you that you are unpatriotic.
We will never tell you that your opinion doesn't count.
We will never waste your lives for power.
We will hold our leaders to a high ethical standard and when they succumb to lust for power, WE WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.
If we forget this, please, please, please, remind us.
We need you to do this. You are America as much as we are. Let's go.

"We will have no tolerance for corruption and cronyism, even in our own party." OK but I want Nancy Pelosi to hold her breath till Harry Reid's land deal gets investigated.

this was a decent gesture by the authorYou read a different post than I did, Laz.
When somebody accuses the outgoing administration and its supporters of killing people for power or forcing people to change their religion, etc. I just don't see that as decency, no matter how they frost it.
You can give the author a kiss, I'll give him a footprint on his ass.

DU, that great place where some members asked how to convert camcorders into guns, claim there were Gitmo like detention centers coming for the so called "progressives", and a general wastebin for insanity.
Yeah, nice place to boost a message of any kind or ask for support.

We don't lock-step, we debate. Of course there are those kinds of people.
I don't call that debate.
Have fun with Congress. I'll start budgeting to pay my tax increase...

I felt it was important for us to start working together. I'm extending my hand. Will you take it, or as you've done thus far spit on it? I'm voting for "spit".
Get off your high horse... this so called "outreach" is condescending and laughable. If you want to act like gracious winners, you should have thought of that when you were ungracious losers.
I'm more than willing to work with people truly interested in bipartisanship, but I'm not going to be lectured by a self-righteous DU troll.

Those are some people. DU is a cross-section of moderate and liberal America, so you've got to expect that there's going to be gasp diversity.
To: kevkrom
I was a gracious loser, too.

"We will have no tolerance for corruption and cronyism, even in our own party." landeraepi I take you at your word. Let me know how the Democrats investigation into Harry Reid's illegal land deal is going.
Just report back here in a few days with all the info you can gather on where we are at in the investigation.

When somebody accuses the outgoing administration and its supporters of killing people for power or forcing people to change their religion, etc. I just don't see that as decency, no matter how they frost it.I view that as misguided. Remember, they are in DU, where lots of fringe-beliefs are foisted on them. Eventually some of the beliefs stick.
Remember Arator? Remember Justin Raimando? Those two were moonbats on our side. If Jim hadn't tossed them out as the nutballs they were, and if the forum started believing their craziness, we too would be making crazy (implied) assertions -- even in peace messages.
I cut this guy slack. He's doing the best he can.

"Moderate"?
Saying -in lockstep- that Gitmo is worse than Auschwits is 'moderate'?
There are terrorist scum there who'd kill you in a heartbeat given the chance, and they are actually living better than you or I are.
A couple of them are getting grotesquely obese even.
And if mass insanity is 'diversity' count me out.
DU is a literal mental orgy of putrescence of the soul.
The calls for MORE dead soldiers, the cheers at every death, the support for the terrorists shows literally that we are correct to question your patriotism.

Arator, maybe, but I was never on the same side as that lunatic Raimondo.
But anyway, you can be "good cop" this week, and I'll be "bad cop."
I say we throw him down a flight of stairs and say he tripped.

Raising big bucks is pretty easy when you have an enabler like Daddy Antiwarbucks Sorearse, who throws money like it's candy at whatever is destructive for America.
What the dims want is a government of the socialists, by the socialists and for socialism.
Every word from the dims to the contrary is pure unadulterated bull kaka.
The dims have slithered themselves into control of congress one more time, and we will live with it as best we can.
You know and we know that your victory was delivered courtesy of the useful idiots among us. We forgive them for they were too dumb to know what they were doing.
We won't forgive you deceitful liberals, because you did willfully and maliciously prey upon those poor pathetic dingalings, who will, if history can be trusted, suffer more from this victory than anyone else.

And don't forget the lunatics at DU that repeatedly insist that 9/11 was a conspiracy despite overwhelming proof that terrorists most definitely did it.

The new senators & reps don't take office until January. I'll let you know, then.
Oh, and nice tagline. I'm just... this guy... y'know?
To: landeraepi
Will you take it, or as you've done thus far spit on it?
I guess we'd really like to see how Mr. Brian fares over there. He's spitting far more than anyone here, combined.
