Dear Dismayed Conservatives (barf alert DUmmie editorial)

Posted on 11/08/2006 11:51:34 AM PST by MetaCon

Dear dismayed conservatives:

I hereby make these promises to you.

We will protect your lives and livelihoods.

We will listen to and respect your beliefs.

We will never try to force you to change your religion, sexual orientation, or first language.

We will do our best to reduce the number of abortions in our country.

We will have no tolerance for corruption and cronyism, even in our own party.

ESPECIALLY in our own party.

We will never tell you that you are unpatriotic.

We will never tell you that your opinion doesn't count.

We will never waste your lives for power.

We will hold our leaders to a high ethical standard and when they succumb to lust for power, WE WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.

If we forget this, please, please, please, remind us.

We need you to do this. You are America as much as we are. Let's go.

Nah, I'll sh*t on it. I am signed up at DU and I've seen the scum in their natural habitat.

bye-bye

It was just a expression of my respect for you, intended to make you my bestest friend so we can build a better country going forward! Obviously.

Sarcasm aside, of course, I'm in. What do you think of Pelosi's 100-hour plan? I think the first step is pretty reasonable, and FReepers will actually love it: cut the ties between Capitol Hill and K Street. In other words, the democrats who got elected this time didn't need the lobbyists — they had the netroots. Why should we need them in the future? Let's tell Abramoff, et. al. to go home. It's better for both parties — no more corruption scandals for either of us.

No, how about a democrat who doesn't want FReepers (my own real-life friends included) to lose hope in their country.

I never lost hope in the country....just the liberals and Democrats.

Dear Democrat Underground Members,

If this post and its tone is indicative of the majority of liberals in America, then I am relieved that you are, indeed, decent Americans. We do disagree how to help America -- we tend to believe that a person who is challenged by competition will rise to the top of their abilities, whereas you tend to want to give people things, and thusly dull them -- and we disagree strongly on how to handle terrorism. However, these are honest disagreements and if we work in concert, middle grounds can be found.

To the author, in particular: Thanks for reaching out with civility. We'll return it in-kind.

Are you satisfied? Did you expect a sh*t-ton of responses encouraging the terrorists to attack? I hope not. Just as I said, it's a whole throng of democrats cheering this message on.

Please listen. We really do want to work together. We don't hate you — you are America as much as we are. We democrats have to grow up a bit and stop complaining about "the evil rich people" and you republicans have to grow up a bit and start compromising on a few issues.

Where was the bipartisanship when they were in the minority? I guess the country didn't matter then. So why should it now.

Guess I stumbled into the wrong threads:

You'll forgive me if I view your "olive branches" as less than credible, in juxtaposition.

Return to DU with the message that at least one freeper is willing to listen and to work without rancor. I am a diehard conservative, but this was a decent gesture by the author, and if the moonbattiness can be kept to a minimum, we can see what we can do together.

Neither of us wants a nuke to go off over Los Angeles; neither of us wants a long and bitter recession; neither of us wants increasing negative Islamic influence on America.

Please advise your bretheren to avoid the endless investigation stuff -- it will lead nowhere and will only distract us from increasing our prosperity and from defending ourselves against a relentless enemy.

Also, gun control is a proven loser issue.

Dear dismayed conservatives:

I hereby make these promises to you.

We will protect your lives and livelihoods.

We don't need you to "protect" our livelihoods. We were taught, among other things, that God helps those who help themselves.

We will listen to and respect your beliefs.

Stick to your day job.Comedy just isn't in your blood.

We will never try to force you to change your religion, sexual orientation, or first language.

Marxist cow chips!

We will do our best to reduce the number of abortions in our country.

No you won't,because abortion is too lucrative a "calling" and abortionists are among your biggest contributors.

We will have no tolerance for corruption and cronyism, even in our own party.

Translation....there will never be a Congressional investigation of a single RAT...not one!

We will never tell you that you are unpatriotic.

Of course you won't."Nazi oppressors" has always been your phrase of choice.

We will never waste your lives for power.

Spoken like a true fellow traveler.

We need you to do this. You are America as much as we are. Let's go.

We will do no such thing...simply because we've seen all the likenesses of Che Guevera and Karl Marx that members of your filthy website use to express just who they are.

"Democrats believe all kinds of things — but most of all, we believe in people letting terrorists kill Americans on American soil rather than stopping terrorists As Per Clinton ignoring terrorist attacks (U.S.S. Cole et al) and Mr. Berger hanging up when we had Osama in our sights."

There, corrected it for you.

We don't lock-step, we debate. Of course there are those kinds of people.

Oh good Lord, you have to be kidding me.

Nancy Pelosi is going to clean out the influence of lobbyists?!?

Her own PACs ("Team Majority" and "PAC to the Future") were fined tens of thousands of dollars by the FEC for laundering money in an effort to bypass contribution limits. Those PACs were established specifically to bypass the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA).

So she's going to pass new laws she can circumvent and when she calls it "reform" you really believe she's accomplishing something.

You want real campaign finance reform - here it is. Only human beings who are legally allowed to vote can contribute their own personal money willingly. No limits, but full and immediate disclosure. No PACs. No corporate contributions. No union contributions.

Nancy Pelosi and every other politician would scream in horror at that proposal.

A naive DUmmie, imagine that. I'll bet the other DUmmies are pounding on him now because he is trying to "reach out" to the other side. It was a very nice post, but I imagine this poster is a newbie teenager on that forum. The DUmmies want blood.

I don't hate republicans.

That's nice, that's pretty much the way we felt 6 years ago as we repeatedly put out our hands and had them viciously bitten off.

Sorry, it's not going to work, we've learned not to trust you. Take our your garbage and maybe we'll talk, but until you do something about the serious crime and corruption in YOUR party, I think we'll just hunker down and think about how we can pay you back for the past 6 years of hell.

"We don't lock-step, we debate make emotion based arguments, ignore facts, vote twice, vote when dead, call for surrender and retreat, commit voter intimidation, praise communist human rights violating China as a paragon of virtue, cry tears over Saddam, and generally hate anything American." There, summed up Democrats in one sentence.
