Neil Boortz is quoted as saying: "So how did I actually vote when I got that provisional ballot in my hand. Straight Libertarian."
Thank you Neil Boortz. Thanks to you and those who think like you, we now have the Democrats in control of Congress. I hope you and your ilk are very happy.
Free Republic is allegedly a CONSERVATIVE web site. Will you libertarians please go somewhere like Lucianne.com, where you can laugh and smile about how you put the Republicans out of power, and leave Free Republic to the conservatives.
Oh, and one more thing.
Neil Boortz -- GO TO HELL.
I'd like to see all the atheists gone as well. After all, FR used to be full of full-bore Jew-haters until 9/11 (and there are still a few of them around). We didn't need the Nazis and we don't need the atheists either.
I could point you to online commentary from 1994 and 2004 that has Democrats saying exactly the same things. Did you even bother to follow the link I posted? Aren't you Republicans supposed to be all about personal responsibility? At least Coburn and Pence seem to be able to walk that walk. Suck it up, admit that you screwed up, and resolve to do better. Either that or sit and wallow in your self-pity, blaming everything and everyone else but God for your failure. Your choice.
Grow up and smell the truth...I would also prefer you debate the issues, instead of leveling personal attacks.
You didn't really write those two sentences adjacent to one another did you? Or was that someone else's fault as well?
And they expect you to keep right on doing it every election. They just want you to shut the hell up in between.
Ahhh, my favorite Jersey anti-libertarian returns. You never answered me when I asked you who you would have voted for for Governor had you lived in Jersey in '97, pro-abortion RINO Whitman, pro-abortion Dem McGreevy, or pro-life Libertarian Murray Sabrin.
OK let me get this straight, you are saying Reagan held the line on spending by way of the veto? And that Bush should follow his lead.
Am I correct here?
Dawgg, you weren't correct when you got out of bed this morning. How could you possibly be correct now?
I couldn't agree more! Many of the libertarians are also atheists, anti-Judeo-Christian values, pro-abortion, pro-homosexuality, etc. In short, they are liberals who hate taxes and own guns.
LOL
The GOP just lost an election BIG TIME, yet you want to drive more possible votes AWAY??
Way to try to convince people.
Get a damn grip would you please?
Well we shall see, you have stated that "W" should use statesman ship and the Veto pen to hold the line on Conrgessional spending.
We gonna see who is wrong here in just a very few minutes.
So again is this your position? All "W" had to do is use his Veto Pen and his Statesmanship to hold the line on Congressional spending like Reagan did? Correct?
Libertarians, Please GO AWAY
Translation: Please vote for the Democrats. We strongly believe that only people who believe 100% like we do should vote for our guys. We only want quality votes from a strong base.
Unfortunately FR is full of them, and they're pushy as heck. They're all the time complaining that religious people are threatening their tax cuts and their laissez faire capitalism and their "liberty." But the thing is, they've gotten all conservatives to thinking that "small government" is the sine qua non of conservatism, with everything else extraneous. Even the most religious conservatives tend to run on economic issues instead of moral ones.
I read a while back that the religous/libertarian alliance began with Frank Meyer in the Fifties. He said that since the government was pushing immorality that therefore moral conservatives should commit to small government. However, this completely ignores the fact that one of the prime purposes of government is to enforce G-d's laws and restrain man's evil inclination. Furthermore the libertarian "small government" "liberty is everything" worldview is based on the flawed worldview of eighteenth century freethinkers, who held that government is a "contract" freely entered into by sovereign individuals. When did this ever happen? It is mythology, pure and simple. And yet the most Calvinistic chr*stians in the world have argued for fifty years that if the government is merely removed from the situation that virtue will triumph!
The Greek/enlightenment/rationalist ideology is the "original sin" in the Genesis of the United States of America.
Do you suppose that white and black churches could ever ditch their respective economic partners (Marxists/Randians) and join together in a movement that liberates morality from social Darwinism? I honestly wonder about this. What do you think?
What the hell! (I'll be pushy for a min)
Listen, you can break it down however you want but all I want is for government to leave me the hell alone. Why is that so much to ask? As long as I'm not violating the rights of others, what gives you the right to bother me?
"the prime purposes of government is to enforce G-d's laws and restrain man's evil inclination."
WTF??? If you really believe that then you are my enemy and I would have no problem squaring off at 20 paces (and I been shooting since I was 7).
Actually, I said that it should never come to a veto, at least where his own party is concerned. If you want to count it a victory, though, go right ahead. You win. I give. You're the biggest Dawgg on the thread.
Could you name one please.
OK we shall revise your premise.
You are claiming Bush should hold the line on spending using statesmanship just like Reagan did (no vetoes at all just statesmanship) Correct?
Dead do you agree that Bush should have held spending down using Statesmanship like Reagan did? (Or in your case use the Veto?)
Osama?
No need...I conceded.
