"You cannot have a new strategy (in Iraq) with the same incompetent management directing it," Rep. Rahm Emmanuel said on NBC's "Today." Asked specifically if the Democrats would press to force Rumsfeld out, he replied, "It is clear he has not met the challenges that we need in Iraq."

Looks like the Dems got their wish.

I will say it again, Bush is shown to be extemely weak. He is now seen as being dictated to by Ried and Stretch - and even worse - caving in to them. It is disgusting! I am listening to Rush waiting to hear how it can get worse.

Looks like the Dems got their wish.

And to no good purpose. He was executing the strategy, and only partially creating it.

If he had resigned a few months ago, it might have made some difference in the election, but resigning now is not going to make the Dems or the Drive By Media love George Bush, or embrace Rumsfeld's replacement.

Rush said today that Bush threw Rumsfeld under the bus and is already pandering to Pelosi and the House Dems. And - that he was tired of "carrying water" for phony Republicans who are NOT conservatives but are more interested in getting good reviews from the drive-by media. I think he's got a point.
