I'm saddest for our military, the Iraqi people, and Israel. And for those family members who lost loved onces in Iraq, my heart is practically broken.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi as the new House Majority Leader, the California Democrat said the conviction and death sentence for former dictator Saddam Hussein by the Iraqi High Tribunal happened in spite of, not because of, foreign policy decisions by U.S. President George W. Bush. It was just a matter of time until the law caught up with Saddam, said Rep. Pelosi. If it hadnt been for Bushs illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq, it would have happened in some other way, and probably sooner.
Don't you think, Jane, that Fancy Nancy will ATTEMPT to surpress some of the radical leftist agenda as she looks towards '08? What will be fun is watching the Willie Nelson types Ragging on her every RAW NERVE to get their stuff on the front burner.
If she puts their stuff on the table she'll be up $h!+ Creek without a paddle. If she DOESN'T, she'll be in the same murky stuff.
In politics, when you go to the dance, you dance with the guy that brung ya. I think we should all order a case of pop corn.
In a nutshell, I don't agree with Chris, either.
And now I simply MUST head to the shower and get my buns in gear.
Agree.
My husband agrees with me that 365, 24/7 pounding of POTUS and reporting only the ugly in Iraq took its toll, but he added the "dumbing down of America." He's right about that. Too many DUMB people voted.
Yes, Peach it will be difficult to disenage from here, but I will be spending two weeks with my visiting family memebers and I hope to only have time for this thread and the Dose.
I know your husband is upset. Mine is too, In fact, he's shocked about the senate.
LOL at your /s. It's so true.
Dumbed downed Americans -- stuck in stupid.
That has been one of my greatest complaint against the GOP, for 40 years they "followed" the RATS, and when they won the leadership, they didn't know what to do. Frist, is a terrible leader, too soft, always looking to please and looking good. Hassert....... The only REAL leader the GOP had was Tom Delay and the democRATS went after him like gang busters and the GOP stood back and held their hands. Foley, was a disaster, and the democRATS and the presstitutes took great advantage of his immorality, even though they had the same, but protected him.
I'm really sorry the GOP lost the house, hopefully the GOP will hold on to the senate.
If only we had more aggressive leaders in the Republican party. But unfortunately, at the moment, we don't.
In addition, I don't think we will see any further effort on border security. And, of course, our taxes will go up after next year, because the tax cuts expire. I fully expect a recession going into the 2008 election, which of course the media will blame on Republlicans.
Laura Ingraham is apparently mocking Republicans on her show and being her usual snarky self. I refuse to listen to people like her, who are totally stupid about politics and what it takes to govern.
Bah! I guess I will try to enjoy next year before we LOSE what little disposable income we had. Grrrr.
Ye gads, I am listening to littlt nance p and her voice, sounds like a grinding sharpening wheel.....
Excellent examples and my opinion too, till.
I expect a democrat push for censorship of internet sites. At at minimum, curtails that will amount to censorship.....of conservative view only of course.
As far as activism, I know that we've both tried to email out information that our friends and email list won't hear from the old media. I have to think that it's striking a chord SOMEWHERE in the libs that I email to, although my time for doing it lately has been limited.
The Pubs shot themselves in the foot. The old media didn't have to win. I include the President in that criticism too. He silently took so much abuse that fiction became fact in the minds of the public.
And he hasn't been wise in his choice or retention of certain key posts like senate maj leader and (up until Snow which was too late) WH press sec.
That's as much criticism as you or anyone here will ever see me leveling at Bush. Other than those things, he's an outstanding President.
But it may all be pretty much for naught.
I was a regular listener to Tony Snow's show because I learned from him and the guests he invited.
I refuse to listen to Laura Ingraham's show because she just tries to make snarky remarks.
Even though Kristol was too often on Brit Hume's TV show, I listened regularly. In the past month I have not been as faithful to the show because I have detected so much left leaning.....just like all the other media.
I got to know exactly what the guests on the Sunday shows would say, so I decided I didn't really need to tune in. I did read freeper comments on the thread and learned from some of those about the guests voting records, etc.
Put bluntly, I will have more time now to concentrate on things that matter more to me than what some media people have to say.
The one thing that has bothered me here at this great site over time has been the large number of people here who proclaim loudly and arrogantly that the old media is dead. They are so wrong.
The old media is stronger than ever even though their numbers are going down. They just lie more and impudently, and they have a very indifferent and ignorant populace to sway. It's an easy formula.
It works, and there is seemingly little we can do about it. Why? Because the schools are churning out little diversity laden, situational ethics ridden, non-judgmental idiots. Then they go vote.
It's sickening, but I wish FReepers would get wise that the old media still rules.

Yes they did toby. They sold out the President.
Here is one of my first posts after I woke up to the bad news this morning:
We will now be attacked 'sooner rather than later'. The Terror Alert should be immediately elevated to 'Orange'.
:((
I need to do my hair and get ready to go shopping in Waco. That's a good way to perk up my spirits.
We're having company from CO arriving tomorrow, so I have to be perky.....I'll probably just lurk, in the early morning hours when everyone is asleep.
Yes, somewhere in the world, maybe here or Europe or some embassy in the ME, an attack is going to claim more western blood because of this election.
You enjoy that visit with your family, onyx, as I know you will. And safe travels to you, dear friend.
I'm leaving for a while but will check in later.
Godspeed to our beloved military men and women.
