AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2117) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | The Day After... | All of Us

Posted on 11/08/2006 4:57:52 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

First--Virginia.

Sad to say, not going to get there.

With 99.75% of the precincts reporting (side note, this is supposed to be an electronic state--there are still outstanding votes?)...

Allen: -0.36%
Pricincts Out: 6
Estimated Votes Remaning: 6,000
Allen Deficit: 8,359

What is interesting is that all of the late precincts, which are predominately early voters, are breaking heavily for Webb--90% or better in most cases. With the remaining votes, if they continue to break for Webb, there won't be an automatic recount.

The big story in the state? The marriage amendment. Time and again in precinct decomposition, it could be seen that predominately black precincts were going overwhelmingly for the amendment, but the same precincts were trouncing Allen. Conclusion--black congregations turned out big time to vote for marriage. While there, heck, punch the screen for Webb. Kind of ironic--a iconic conservative issue does in the conservative.

Frankly, it's hard to say there's something up, because "early voting" areas do, in fact, correlate with blue areas. We'll see.

Now, for the rest of the story.

It is looking like the RAT party will have somewhere around 230 seats in the 110th Congress. We will have Speaker Pelosi, and chairmans of the ilk that includes Rangell, Waxman, Conyers, Dingell, and so on.

In the Senate--it's up to Virginia and Montana. If we win one of those states, the senate has 50 Republicans. If we win both, 51. Again, there's a certain sanguinity about Virginia. Montana's not that great either, though there's only about 2,000 votes separating the two, with the RAT leading, 91% in, with about 32,000 votes left to count. Obviously, if we lose both, we lose the Senate.

Some good news out of all this--many of the liberal Republicans in the Senate are gone. This will give us the opportunity to build up a solid conservative foundation on the Senate side. In the House, we've got to find Newt II, though with a bit more suave than Newt.

Moving forward, the media says the election was about Iraq, immigration, and corruption. Forget the last two. By the time folks rolled into the ballot box, the corruption surrounding, for example, Foley had faded into the past. Immigration is rather neutral, actually. It had enough proponets and detractors that it probably washed out.

Then there's Iraq. The media, naturally, says the vote was against being in Iraq.

Nope, wrong answer. The correct thing is people are wanting to GET IT DONE! They don't see progress, but then media types haven't been to good at showing progress. The prediction here is that it'll be like the homeless, not a problem now that RATS are in charge somewhere. They have a plan, after all. (By the way, when it's found, ping the assembled.)

But, as usual, the media got it half right. People, in my opinion, and based on those I have talked to, see America over-focused on Iraq. Can't say as I blame them. President Bush said there were three entities in the Axis of Evil, Iraq, Iran, and North Korea. We eliminated one, but what about the other two?

One went on and developed nuclear weapons, the other is on its way. That's scaring the bejesus out of the average American, particularly as they see the United States being relatively impotent on the matter. We keep yapping, but they keep right on with their nuclear programs. The American people, I would argue, demand action in these areas; Iraq would be much less of an issue if we could address Iran and North Korea.

The other piece of good news is we still have over 40 Senators. The RATS will now learn how hard it is to run the Senate.

Short run prediction, the White House will trot up a budget in February for fiscal year 2008 that will have bunches of goodies in it, daring the House to say "no". It is the opening shot of the 2008 campaign.

And what about the 2008 campaign? Here's the really big message from last night. It is clear that coattails are back in play. Whoever runs in 2008 will have them. We need a big time, brand name Republican to run for the White House.

At the moment, the marquis is empty. Looking for volunteers.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Well Jane and I were talking about getting conservatives elected. That's the context.

"Warm and fuzzy" is one phrase...you can find another...which denotes a certain appeal, openness, optimism which an electing majority will find attractive. These qualities MUST be wedded to a firm core of conservative principles IMO. That's all.

And one more thought: this package must be able to rise above the old media, or get thru it - to reach those voters.

It's a tall order.

Did you hear Hewitt tonite? Someone called & wanted Gingrich as the '08 candidate! NO way is that going to work. Laughable....

And further more...just think how such an appealing conservative would contrast to say...a shrill Hillary?? Hmmmm...

To reiterate: "warm and fuzzy" alone won't do it...neither will strong, conservative ideas alone suffice. Each part is necessary but not sufficient.

Our side has a higher bar to surmount, no question.

I had an interesting conversation today. It is our practice to order chocolates for holiday gifts for our customers and as we are going out of town I wanted to get those arrangments made early.

I phoned the lady in Alberta that I've done business with for our Canadian customers for the past 3-4 years. She informed me that this would probably be her last Christmas in business. The economy is booming so much there that office buildings are being torn down, refurbished etc....and she has to get out.

She related that there are so many employment opportunities they have had an influx of people coming to get work. But the infrastructure is strained beyond capacity, there aren't homes for them and they now have many homeless. Hospitals don't have enough beds and she acknowleged the exodus of medical people from Canada (due to their socialist medicine) too.

Mr. Prairie tells me that feedyard workers are easily earning $20 per hour there. The chocolate lady said many people are earning $30 per hour and more.

Interesting conversation, good evening everybody.

Rumsfeld was scapegoated because of the upcoming Baker group report and recommendations on Iraq.

Gates is a Baker man. There is going to be a change in policy, I'd wager.

Hi Molly.....Still hanging out...Yes I heard Hewitt. But I missed that. Never mind my 'warm and fuzzy' comments. I have no idea what I am talking about from what I read.

He may have taken one for the team. I'm just not sure it'll work...You know...one offering to the savages may just make them hungrier.

McInerny had some good things to say about him earlier.

He is leaving (in my opinion) so that he won't be on the Hill 5 days a week being grilled by the democrats. Impossible to work while doing that, and the troops would suffer.

Rush is very good at explaining some intricate parts of legislature, and othe complex issues. He should not put himself into the back seat quarterbacking, 'cause he doesn't have the power or all of the information that the President has. He's trying to make himself mor important than he really is. He is a citizen who has just been given a political gut punch.

Today Rush said in order for the Republican to win is to stick to their conservative beliefs. A person called in and asked about Rick Santorium losing because of his stand on conservative values. Rush turned into a fresh baked pretzil explaining, through nuances how he should have done it. It was completely contrary to what he had just said. Sometimes we just have to keep our mouths shut until we've thought out the answer. Rush if you're reading this, you may contact me.

The wevels are in the wheat flour. They can do a lot of damage, as we've seen happening in England and Europe.

You and Guenie are absolutely right. We CANNOT BE AFRAID. We can be like Him and clean out the rascals in 2 years. KEEP THE FAITH, DO NOT SURRENDER, STAND FAST. My motto, however sometime when I sant fast, it's because one of my feet is stuck in black land clay. But I survive. We must NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE UP. To many have risked their lives, limbs and sanity to keep this country "God's Chosen" This I truly believe, otherwise we couldn't have had so many from the world come here of thier own free will and become American. The greatest land.
