We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
First--Virginia.
Sad to say, not going to get there.
With 99.75% of the precincts reporting (side note, this is supposed to be an electronic state--there are still outstanding votes?)...
Allen: -0.36%
Pricincts Out: 6
Estimated Votes Remaning: 6,000
Allen Deficit: 8,359
What is interesting is that all of the late precincts, which are predominately early voters, are breaking heavily for Webb--90% or better in most cases. With the remaining votes, if they continue to break for Webb, there won't be an automatic recount.
The big story in the state? The marriage amendment. Time and again in precinct decomposition, it could be seen that predominately black precincts were going overwhelmingly for the amendment, but the same precincts were trouncing Allen. Conclusion--black congregations turned out big time to vote for marriage. While there, heck, punch the screen for Webb. Kind of ironic--a iconic conservative issue does in the conservative.
Frankly, it's hard to say there's something up, because "early voting" areas do, in fact, correlate with blue areas. We'll see.
Now, for the rest of the story.
It is looking like the RAT party will have somewhere around 230 seats in the 110th Congress. We will have Speaker Pelosi, and chairmans of the ilk that includes Rangell, Waxman, Conyers, Dingell, and so on.
In the Senate--it's up to Virginia and Montana. If we win one of those states, the senate has 50 Republicans. If we win both, 51. Again, there's a certain sanguinity about Virginia. Montana's not that great either, though there's only about 2,000 votes separating the two, with the RAT leading, 91% in, with about 32,000 votes left to count. Obviously, if we lose both, we lose the Senate.
Some good news out of all this--many of the liberal Republicans in the Senate are gone. This will give us the opportunity to build up a solid conservative foundation on the Senate side. In the House, we've got to find Newt II, though with a bit more suave than Newt.
Moving forward, the media says the election was about Iraq, immigration, and corruption. Forget the last two. By the time folks rolled into the ballot box, the corruption surrounding, for example, Foley had faded into the past. Immigration is rather neutral, actually. It had enough proponets and detractors that it probably washed out.
Then there's Iraq. The media, naturally, says the vote was against being in Iraq.
Nope, wrong answer. The correct thing is people are wanting to GET IT DONE! They don't see progress, but then media types haven't been to good at showing progress. The prediction here is that it'll be like the homeless, not a problem now that RATS are in charge somewhere. They have a plan, after all. (By the way, when it's found, ping the assembled.)
But, as usual, the media got it half right. People, in my opinion, and based on those I have talked to, see America over-focused on Iraq. Can't say as I blame them. President Bush said there were three entities in the Axis of Evil, Iraq, Iran, and North Korea. We eliminated one, but what about the other two?
One went on and developed nuclear weapons, the other is on its way. That's scaring the bejesus out of the average American, particularly as they see the United States being relatively impotent on the matter. We keep yapping, but they keep right on with their nuclear programs. The American people, I would argue, demand action in these areas; Iraq would be much less of an issue if we could address Iran and North Korea.
The other piece of good news is we still have over 40 Senators. The RATS will now learn how hard it is to run the Senate.
Short run prediction, the White House will trot up a budget in February for fiscal year 2008 that will have bunches of goodies in it, daring the House to say "no". It is the opening shot of the 2008 campaign.
And what about the 2008 campaign? Here's the really big message from last night. It is clear that coattails are back in play. Whoever runs in 2008 will have them. We need a big time, brand name Republican to run for the White House.
At the moment, the marquis is empty. Looking for volunteers.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Naughty ..naughty..go ahead be my guest. LOL
Ditto. I've listened to the president and then shut the television off as the questions started. Since morning, I've re-arranged our closet and dresser and mopped the floor, been to Wal Mart and Kroger and watered the ivy and pansies.
I'll be back to fight some day but it won't be for a while, I predict.
After I have a good cry....and turn this stuff off...
I will regroup...
..And THEN....
Just appreciate each day I have with my family....hug them more often.....find time to be with them....cherish each day
..because...
..we are in serious trouble....and I'm trying not to be scared.
God is in control....On that I rely.
Not that I doubt you, Rush, as the leader of talk radio and leader of the EIB network, did you have a press conference right after each event.. explaining it or did you have your lawyers do it?
We can in conservative states elect conservative Republicans to federal offices. That can give us about 35 members of the senate and 35 percent of the members of the House. But to gain control of the house and senate we must run quite moderate candidates in the battle ground states. Even in PA we can not run men like Santorum. We must run candidates like Specter.
That is the only way to prevent Democrats from running constant investigations of Presidents and using house and senate committees from holding hearings designed to prove how corrupt the Republicans are.
Those that look at last nights election and list as a good point that RINOs were defeated must believe that defeating RINOs has nothing to do with losing control of the House and Senate.
How many elections does it take to prove to people that the party that elects the most ''INOs rules the nation. Thinking that an 'INO in a battleground state can be replaced with a conservative is just total stupidity.
Last night a lot of RINOs got replaced with DINOs or at least liberals masquerading as DINOs.
If the party base is foolish enough to nominate true conservatives in battle ground states the Liberals will control the government for decades to come.
Right now there is not a surviver in the house or senate that believes that defying the Media can get or keep them in office.
Republicans ran against the Main Steam Media and they lost. Only a very stupid fool could believe that defying the main stream media can result in victory at the polls.
The Main Stream Media controls what a majority of voters think.
What the lead up to this election taught the Fox News Network is to maintain any influence over the majority they must turn to the left. Liberal Democrats know they must pretend to be moderate DINOs to win. They know they are not a majority. Conservative Republicans are unable to read election returns. No wonder the media thinks they are stupid.
Comfort food tonight...beef stew. I may pop a few rolls in the oven, too.
Sweetie, why this post?
They are blaming Bush for this loss, when all it takes is looking at how the media, including our conservative media, are behaving, and have behaved since Katrina.
Well, politics is not for the faint-hearted, but I do think those folks who think we "need to get back to our conservative roots" will be pretty disappointed when they realize that the media is still in control.
Personally, I think our greatest chance would be to get some deep pockets people to launch a conservative network, probably privately run. And even that is a long shot, as the "true conservatives" will carp about who gets on air. I am disgusted with the people in my party, and I just don't have it in me to deal with them. Maybe in a few weeks, but right now the spectacle of RUSH dissing the President when Rush himself caused part of the problems is just too much for me to take. I will be here on ATRW and maybe The Dose, but I just cannot stand to listen to anymore of the foolishness I am hearing on the news side.
FOFL!!
Molly some of the most optimistic posters are basically saying that Rummy's resignation will take the air out of the RATS balloon. That he'll cease being a target except for the inevitable investigations, which he can now fully attend to and testify at as a civilian and not Sec Def.
It reminds me of the Tom Delay resignation actually. Once he stopped being a target the RATs had nowhere and no one to shoot.
Still it's just another gut-punch on a really bad day. I feel terrible for our military.
And I have to wonder if the WH didn't have some pretty bleak writings on the wall a couple of days ago about these election outcomes. Seems this Rumsfeld thing may have been in the works for more than just 18 hours. But what do I know?
I like Rush, but he has a real problem with putting himself in other's shoes.
I realize Rush is not the President, but it's easy for him to sit behind his golden mic and explain to his listeners as opposed to live tv with live reporters.
I'm not trying to start anything. I'm a Rush fan. He's not making anything better by speaking out negatively about the press conference.
'Nuff said. :-)
Apparently it's good that I'm still tidying up the place and tending to business instead of listening to ANY media today. Conservative or otherwise.
This muslim elected in MN, Keith Ellison, is worrisome to me too.
A good move.
Why do the smallest of things get pushed to the back.. underneath the meat tray ..hiding from my eyes ..with the only desire is to turn green?
I caught it..ah ha!!
Amen, Guennie. AMEN!
A few days to calm down and figure this out will help.
More prayer than ever going up for our President/Commander in Chief today.
God hasn't abandoned us. He wants us to learn from what is happening now, and to 'BE NOT AFRAID!'
Must leave for a few. BBL
Rush is just reacting and not thinking. I turned him off quickly.
I cannot tolerate people who entertain and talk for a living perceiving themselves to be superior to a man who must make difficult choices and lead a war against an evil enemy......no, make that TWO evil enemies...... in a rotten world.
Wisdom dear one!!!!!
As I have been telling some of my republican colleagues all day, it is my faith, family, and friends that determine my happiness.
I voted my faith, and I can live with that.
Thank you for pinging me here, Guennie. God bless you!
