I haven't heard much about the independent voters in the DA election. Following some of the links here - http://www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/politicalInfo.php?locIndex=19254 - it looks like there are some 33,000 registered voters with no party affiliation.

Throw in the 27,000 registered to the GOP, and you have about 60,000 potential new, non-Democrat voters in the November 7 election vs. the primary.
