Strike up the band for another FSU letdown David Whitley
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Florida State had a new band but an old motto Thursday night.
You can't run, so you can't hide.
And now, FSU's season is officially going nowhere. How bad is FSU's ground game? Let's just say if your car ran as poorly as the Noles', you'd gladly abandon it on the side of the road. ...
Remember when FSU used to take going 5-0 for granted?
...
Had the Seminoles really figured things out when they blew out Rice? Or were they the flawed team that lost to Clemson and barely beat Troy?
Go with the latter.
...
Most of what FSU gets these days is off misdirection, broken plays and athletic catches. That works for a while, but eventually you have to get down and dirty.
...
There's plenty of blame to go around. Just don't pin this one on Amato's inside FSU knowledge.
...
I don't care if Amato has a chip implanted in Bowden's brain and was getting EEG printouts on the sideline Thursday night. NC State's quarterback was starting his second game. NC State had lost by 20 to Southern Miss.

Ping!
I also think John L. Smith will be available. :)
ding-dong
I was there....and yeah, Chuck Amato owns Bobby.
Wow! What a team the Wolfpack has! And I hear the football squad isn't that bad either!
But in the ACC, this is Georgia Tech's year!
Florida State fans just don't get it. There are other teams in the ACC now that are just as good, if not better than FSU. NC State played a great game last night. Don't sell them short!
*Smile*
Thanks for slapping down Florida Overrate! Always nice to see Free Shoes U. lose.
I am making my way over to your Hazmat thread, but I have to gloat first.
One of our sales reps, an FSU grad, lives in Apex and had to evacuate.
I called and left "The Red and White" on his cell voicemail anyway.
Cruel, ain't I?
I saw that, pretty sweet.
It's supposed to be on display at the RBC Centura offices here in RM next Monday.
I don't get it. FSU has had tremendous success for a long time but rather than being thankful for all of that fans start coming out of the woodwork complaining because of their poor start this year. Be grateful for what you have and what you had. Geesh.
What is "The Red and White" for a phone message???
And, yes, you are cruel!
My husband is a Carolina fan; he turns off the TV if they start losing; and if they have a bad season, they start talking about lynching coaches.
I tell him all the time he expects too much -- and when you have expectations like that, when you do win, you don't have the real thrill of it.
He should be a State fan for a while. :-)
It's come in handy so many times.
While I have always liked college football (and the pros too for that matter), I have become more interested in D3 football as time goes on. Since there are no athletic scholarships in D3 the talent level is obviously less but the upside of not having it be a business is taken away. They have a national championship playoff system which I have found very enjoyable. Maybe I'm getting old or something but I enjoy the more innocent aspects of the samll college game than I used to.
