My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

It's probably that "stuck-up" attitude that Europeans tend to have towards Americans.

They act stuck up but they really confused.

They are stuck in the old European class struggle and envy us for our lack of one. That envy has become more perverted as years pass, poor things.

It would seem that most photographic successes are due to the right light.

Getting the right light is always work, no matter how you do it. Lots of times, it's a matter of luck.

Hi all! Well I'm all settled in here in Taiwan. It's so good to be back, but almost immediately the shenanigans start up again! It's funny, this company has a Greek guy and an Indian guy, both married to Taiwanese women, and they both seem affected by the wacky Chinese culture exactly as I am!

Though I will say the people in this part of Taiwan (closer to the north, where I spent my original stay) are much more the "real" Chinese that I remember. It seems the southern part (descended mostly by Chinese who have been living in Taiwan for 2 or 3 hundred years) practice an almost "bastardized" Chinese culture, which is to say the sneaky, manipulative, silly double standards are actually part of the Chinese mentality, but the local yokels have it all out of whack so that the naturally pleasant parts of Chinese culture are minimized, and the crappy parts are over the top!

Anyway, I don't have a set up to post a lot from just yet, and I might change companies once or twice before I settle in for the year (par for the course around here), but I'll be back regularly in a few weeks.

Actually, the Indian fellow is from Kerala, a well known and advanced part of India that is just opening a new technology park to compete with the well established Bangalore and Hyderabad. He is very warm in inviting me to visit his family, and even has me thinking of returning to the technology field! That might be just the thing to re-spark my interest, software design in an exotic location!

Maybe the next chapter in my travels will be southern India. But then, maybe not, you never know, do you??!!

I think it's great you have so many options. What a life you have, travel, adventure, making new friends.

Economic competition is a big part of the envy issue. We're the reason they've changed so radically and changed their currency, competitiveness.

It's probably all propagated by smaller European power struggles and the old "me, me, me" and "we're better than you are."

If they ruled Earth, they'd tell us to learn to relax. But they don't. We do. Haha!

Problem is, though, that Europeans are dying out faster than new ones are born. That, plus the Islamists are populating faster than rabbits makes for a scary scenario.

That's bad. Maybe it's time to start building bomb shelters and loading brass.

It's just a little rock. These people are so primitive, they worshiped stones till Mo came along! Rocks that you could carry in your hand, black, shiny stones. I wonder if they use those rocks when they stone innocent people to death.

Well, it looks like Starbase is heading into another bout with Chinese business and that promises to be a hoot! In India huh? I drove a truck across most of it when I worked my way around the world back more then a few years ago. (try 35 or so.) I didn't understand a word, but with a LOT of pantomime and incredible patience on everybody's part we managed. The truck company boss wanted another driver and a mechanic, so all I had to do was follow their trucks and keep them running. Great people, and interesting times, especially in the &&^^%%$$ monsoons. HUMID!!! But colorful and thosw women...Those eyes, as deep as sin, and oh so lovely!

I wasn't always a minister! 8^P (Then, I was just a footloose sailor with the urge to travel and see things.)

I look forward to the next travel log from our intrepid guide, and who knows what memories it will recall.
