My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Seven going on 15. Smart as a whip, and very precocious. She is making excellent progress in school, and makes friends every where she goes. She also has a pretty good singing voice, and loves to sing to people.

She is without a doubt a Diamond of high quality. People say I spoil her, but I tell them that I have her right where she wants me.

What is wrong with spoiling your granddaughter? There is no reason that I can find.

I don't think there is anything wrong with spoiling (read - loving) a grandchild. However, my wife likes to remind me that we are raising her, and can't send her home to her mother. So, any spoiling does stay in our home. She is a very special girl, and rarely gets out of line or in trouble. The rare occasion that she has to be disciplined results in her learning to not do that again. But, really, I have more problems getting my 22 year old son to "behave" than this precious young lady.

There is spoiling and there's spoiling. I am a strong believer in adhering to values - a losing war these days. And respect, which also isn't doing well.

I don't believe in denying a chile and believe in giving her more attention than energy would permit and feeding her curiosity and joie de vivre.

No worries there. We are teaching her values and morals, and right and wrong. She watches the news with me, and askes intelligent questions about difficult topics - we discuss them at her level, and never give more that the answer she is looking for. She really understands right and wrong, and is a fast learner.

Good. Then she should be spoiled.
