My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Father in heaven we place before you the name Tonkin Gulf for healing and full recovery.
Prayers are offered for this man who has served his nation, and is a friend to hundreds.
In his name, Amen.

"I can't climb the ladder so well anymore
so it's frustrating to peer through those windows
all grimy with soot, but should I put my foot on a ladder
for me it would be one day on a ladder and three days in recovery."

Yep that sounds like me too! ;^)

Oh, it was interesting at work today. I did some assessment with a 2nd grader who was bouncing off the walls in my office. Cute little thing, and very very smart. The rest of the day was okay. Thanks for asking.

Robert and his nephew, who is also in Iraq, have hooked up via email and are writing back and forth. I sent my nephew and email, and found out that both of them are okay. Robert hasn't sent us any emails or made any calls, but probably because he doesn't have much access any more where he now is.

A buddy of mine is getting together with several of the families of other soldiers in his son's unit, and buying a satallite phone. The families chip in and help pay the airtime (certain number of hours a month) so that their families can talk to their sons and daughters an hour a week each week right to their home phones. The Company Sergent keeps the phone and 'issues' it to a trooper on a schedule, so as to prevent over running the hour time limit per call, and to see its not used at an improper moment! They had to work with the unit commander, but he thought it a good idea. Might something like that work of your family???

I'll check to see whether this can be done. I'll send an email to my son and let him know about the satellite phone idea, and ask him to check with his CO about doing this. This sounds like an excellent idea.

Thanks for the FYI on this.

Just glad to pass it on and see what good it might do! I know from my time in, a call to home, to actually hear those voices was like Christmas!
