Unfortunately, the following week, your son's father-in-law tried the same thing with different results. ;-)
What's got four legs and an arm?
A Pit Bull!!

I'm with you on that one. Now if I can just figure out how to make it show up the right way...
BTW, I don't even own a dog and haven't since I was a kid:
I simply can't abide moronic dog banners and/or haters on FR who can't back up their positions with facts or logic - much less defend same on any philosophical conservative basis - and accordingly are compelled to resort to emotionally-driven liberal-like rants & hypocritically citing 'stories' from the msm - a source they'd likely immediately question on virtually any other topic.
What a honey. She seems to have made a good recovery. Does she swim or wade? Mine loves to fetch in the water. She's like a little engine. But unlike labs she will never jump in.
While he's swimming and I call out for him to do a "Big Splash"
he'll raise his paws out of the water and bring them down hard repeatedly
churning up the water and having fun. He really makes me laugh at times.
He's is also an avid albeit unsuccessful beaver hunter.
He's the little white dot way out on the left.
Old beaver lets him get close and then gives a big whack of his tail and dives.
Poor Sammy just keeps chugging forward looking to his left and right for the beaver.
While beaver, in the foreground here, surfaces behind him
no doubt having a good laugh at the silly dog...
I had the first session of my firearms safety course this evening.
The instructor had his two yellow labs with him.
He told how the one is a good bird dog
While the other just doesn't seem to get it at all.
I had been considering that Sam might have some potential as a bird hunting dog.
I know he loves to swim and retrieve,
and on one occassion demonstrated a very gentle mouth on a bird.
I got some info from the instructor about a trainer who can try him out and test his potential.
Thank you. You are too kind.
Here's a story about pack behavior with unfortunate consequences.

Yes, interesting. Greyhounds are pretty prey driven, and IG's are tiny! That poor dog didn't have a chance with a pack and all that entails.
Wound up adopting "Bull-Dozer" for myself today.
He's back on a training program, pretty smart dog, learned some new lessons after only three examples.
