Thanks for the ping, sj. No problem about the live thread. We on the left coast had no chance to participate anyway -- in fact, had to avoid it.
The new time slot and diversity theme are a turnoff for sure. What are they thinking? Will it be as obnoxious as the family show? Or worse?
I'll try to catch it anyway.

(((TAR Reminder Ping)))
TAR X premiers tonight at 8:30pm EST
(time allowing after football and 60 Minutes)
Episode#1--90 minute special
The race begins where the last race ended: Gas Works Park in Seattle, WA. From there, the teams travel to Beijing, China.
Because this is the premier episode, I'll ping the list again tonight at showtime if you would like to join us here for a "live" thread.
As always, if you want on or off this ping list, just let me know.

I have the bad feeling that this season will have me yearning for TAR's "good old days" when there were teams like Twill, the Band of Brothers, Clown Nose Patrol and Flozak.
I predict bunch-ups a plenty this season... /Karnak voice
For those who care: The LBOJ is now three and he's going to be a big brother.

Four hours. Run errands. Cook supper. Four hours....

Just reading the intro here I think Lyn and Karlyn will be strong competitors. They look fast and indeed resourceful. We shall see.
To: EmilyGeiger
I thought so, too. Are they going to stop and pray five times a day?

I'm so excited I can barely wait. What's the bet that there will be some issue with the Muslim racers and the whole episode will be like an after school special on how poorly they were treated?

Rubbing hands together. Almost time to put the pizza rolls in the oven.

What's the bet that there will be some issue with the Muslim racers and the whole episode will be like an after school special on how poorly they were treated? Groan. I've been suspecting that.
In the early promos, CBS was portraying them as all-American dads ... who happen to be Muslim. But it seemed that CBS stopped those promos leading up to the 9/11 anniversary.

Please put me on the TAR ping list. Not sure I like it's new time slot. Only time will tell.
