Back in the 70's or earlier even, there was always a way for the adults to unwind a little while sittng back a moment or so with the kids and watch the "Wabbit" of choice on the Sat. morning cartoons. Now a days with the more ungly the more mouthy the better-cartoons have become a more groose picture then funny. The laugh is somewhere out in left field now along wth the lost Bugs Bunny, Tweety ,FogHorn Leghorn and good old Slyvester the cat! Hay Elmer Fud ,"Where's the Wabbit"? Are videos out yet? Anyone know and the not soooo old ones I mean.
Maybe the king finally got his hasenfeffer.
Too violent! My goodness, do you want kids bonking each other on the heads, playing with guns, and jumping off cliffs? Oh the humanity!!!!
Picked up a three hour video tape of those old cartoons, some back to the 40s and 50s at a garage sale. My kids love it.
Pepe LePew
Speedy Gonzales
Cartoon Network will never show these harmless shows.
Not PC.
Bugs was a transexual, and kissed Fudd all the time, and I think the yosemite fella.
Too violent, of course. Someone might get the idea that firing a shotgun at someone's head doesn't really hurt them.
That being said, I love to watch them with my daughter when we catch them, beat they crap out of the drek on TV nowdays.
There are a few DVD sets of the old Looney Tunes (I have two of them). These are the uncut versions, for a few of the more "politically incorrect" cartoons have been edited when they were broadcast on Cartoon Network. If you don't have cable, but have a DVD player, that's your best bet.
The Looney toons set costs more than the DVD player itself, but there you go.
Watch anytime to your hearts content. A lot better than TV.
We'vee been watching old cartoons all the time.
There are a number of old cartoons that can be bought for a dollar a DVD. These are the ones that have had their copyright expire and are public domain. A lot are dogs, like Gabby, but there are some good ones as well. And even some Bugs Bunny. Ironically the ones that have expired are often ones that are now non-PC because of a racial stereotype (usually blackface) so they were not copyright renewed.
I'm a huge fan of the Looney Tunes. Check out a Spongebob cartoon sometime.
I can't tell you about Bugs Bunny, but Elmer Fudd is running for Senate in Connecticut as an Independent. Oh, sorry -- that is Joe Lieberman. They sound exactly alike!
I spent many a Saturday taping tons of them for posterity (and my kids). I even have the full length "What's Opera Doc?"
Elmer Fudd: Oh, Bwunehiwda, you're so wuvwee.
Bugs Bunny: Yes I know it, I can't help it.
As a note: You can get many of the good ones from within the "Looney Tooney Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie(s)".
"I say, I say, that's a joke, son!"
I have two of the three Looney Toons - Golden Collection sets. Each has around forty CLASSIC cartoons.
I, too, am a huge Warner Bros. cartoon fan. None better.
They have them on Amazon, and I've seen them at some stores. Highly recommended.
I always thought he sounded more like Underdog.
