this is not conservatism, this is madness

This is the sort of thing which has gradually eroded my liking of this website. Too many worthwhile people have been banned for reasons which appear no reason at all. Too many dolts and boors have been welcomed back and tolerated, so long as they spout particular party lines. The tone of this place has grown angrier, clannish, and anti-scientific over the last year or so. It is fast becoming a clamorous echo-chamber of one small, ugly, but vociferous segment of what passes for the Conservative movement today.

This last exchange, coming direct from the top, is, for me, the final nail.

Yes, you can consider this post my Opus, if you feel so inclined.

I will miss many of you on this pinglist, and many others I have forgotten to ping, but I cannot continue to financially support or patronise a site now explicitly dedicated to Luddism.

I strongly doubt I shall spend much if any time on FR from this point forward, and wished to take what in effect is my leave of you all, formally and in the friendship we have enjoyed on these odd sidebar threads. Should any of you wish to talk, I can be found as "kingprout" on Darwin Central
