According to this time line her Dr examined her on 8-27-96. At that time a vagina exam WAS given.

I asked earlier if that was normal to give such an exam to a six-year-old girl and didn't get an answer although one poster speculated it might have had to do with JBR's bedwetting problem.

The answer is yes, but a vaginal exam for a little girl is an external visual, not the same as an adult women would receive.

And the mother is present. My pediatrician had the girls sit on my lap and my hands are the "stirrups".

Bladder infections caused by excessive use of bubble bath is extremely common at this age. Especially since they are just beginning to bathe themselves (and mine would sneak extra bubble stuff). Couple of bladder infections later and they learned why mommy limits the bubbles. I have 3 girls and every last one of them went through this phase.

Had a child who was a bed wetter. A vaginal exam IS common as bed wetting can be a symptom of yeast infection or sexual abuse. Either confirmed or denied by the exam.
