She was in the "WINE CELLAR' Wine cellars are usually kept at a 55* temp. That would DELAY putrefaction. OTOH IIRC the furnace was not far away. It's heat could have accelerated putrefaction. Maybe she was killed closer to it and only moved much later.

It was only "called" the wine cellar as an affectation. It wasn't *really* a wine cellar. It was the old coal room of the 1920s house.

That's a hoot! Some "wine cellar". Did you look at the picture? It's a dirty basement room where paint cans, old windows, odds and ends, and Christmas decorations were kept.
In my house, we call that the "Junk Room".
