BTW, Sacajaweau thinks the time frame he wrote for them to wait for his call meant something...it gave him the lead time to get away while everyone waited for the call. Wondering about that as a possibility Horror of horrors....COuld he actually have been hiding in the basement room, holding the door closed when the police were looking through the house?

I told you here....I'm in deep do-do!

Karr signs the yearbook, perhaps someday I Shall Be The Conqueror! The ransom note is signed, Victory! S.B.T.C. In tandem with what you said...

Suppose, but she thinks he was giving himself lead time to get far away. So still being there in the house wouldn't square...

Was just a thought....Not very likely, but sure scary!!!!

If JBR had just been missing that morning there would have been searches, APB's, dogs, all kinds of things. The ransom note prevented all of that from occurring.

No he wasn't still in the house when they woke up.
Just picture the cops reading the note and setting things up for the phone call (which would only take a few minutes).
But in concentrating on the phone call to come, they did a half-a** search of the house.....and let it go and waited and waited.
I would guess that Karr could have left Jonbenet in any number of places in the house and they wouldn't have found her.
They weren't looking for HER. They were looking for a disturbance of the Ramsey household.....signs of robbery etc.. Frankly, they wouldn't recognize a "disturbance" unless it was obvious. It's not THEIR house.
A room by room walk-through of the house by a cop with one of the parents would likely have changed the time of finding the child.
We depend on law enforcement to do a lot, not to become emotionally involved. That's asking a real lot when it involves a kid. They may have been just overly compassionate towards the Ramseys at first. Good people are like that.
Such a terrible sad case...like so many others.

I think we're a lot closer than yesterday. Hoosiermama's thing about transporting cars was a REAL BIG HELP.
It took care of the money and transportation question.
I have friends in the auto dealer business. I even bought one of my cars from them. $1000 check, $500 cash.
They go to the local auction, buy a couple of cars and resell them. They make the re-sale a wash....and voila "no income".

The ransom note caused a lot of things:
It slowed them down on finding her body.
He may have given him more time if he thought the parents would have heeded his threats and not to call police or the FBI. He may have expected them to call in the FBI and wait for the call from him. It probably never expected her body would be found so quickly.
It gave the perp a chance to get his digs in at John Ramsey on a personal level.
It caused the case to become popular in the media, due to the kidnapping ransom note.
He caused people to suspect the parents did it due to the $118K ransom amount. The Ramsey's were/are worth millions.
I am sure I missed something.
To: Sacajaweau
Good grief - of course they went through the house - upon arrival around 6AM.

Excellent observation and explains,or at least forces one to look at,other preconceived ideas and theories. That was an outstanding contribution.----I thought I had heard or seen everything there was to hear or see on the subject but I hadn't heard that.

The pad is in the evidence locker. It will be easy enough to find out what other notes Patsy had written on it, if it were her daily or most recent "things to do" list pad.
That info has never been released, to my knowledge, and I've always wanted to know it.

Did it start Mr and Mrs Ramsey and is that is all he wrote?
Did they find the extra missing pages?
