For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
I do! and I often print....and I have no idea where I spent Christmas 1996!!!!!!!!
Everyone was waiting for the 8 AM-10 AM call.He was long gone before they thoroughly searched the house and found the body. He had maybe a 10 hour lead on them. If he traveled by car, he'd be 600 miles away. If he traveled by plane, he'd be home."
I've been trying to come up with a motive that ties in with the ransom note, is plausible, and makes sense (at least from the killer's perspective).
Say it's Karr (or any intruder really). When did the kidnap/ransom idea occur to him? Was it prior to entry of the Ramsey's home or after?
If prior then why didn't he write the ransom note out beforehand?
Did he write the ransom note before or after JonBenet's death? Give your reasons.
Does anyone know what the draft note said?
Your idea is worth considering and would fit in with my tentative theory. I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on my questions.
Ditto on Lee.
Fox reporting that Karr is on the move..
IMO opinion. The ransom note was a dare to LE to find him..."I'm smarter than you are!" "I've given you this BIG clue now see if you can find me!" "Grow a brain" was directed at authority as much as at John.
Cyril Wecht is on Fox saying that the palm print is HR's older daughters and the foot print was from Burke's shoe...he doesn't understand why it keeps being reported that those two pieces of evidence is unsolved.
HR=JR, John Ramsey
She asked "how many of us", which doesn't mean that none of us make our "a" that way. (Or are you just teasing us because YOU do?) She's saying in the yearbook, and in the ransom note of a crime to which he has basically confessed. I'm adding...don't forget SBTC in both. Lots of "coinkidinkies", I'd say.
Sorry if I intimated that. I think we can agree to disagree. I think the reader can look and decide whether or not there is sufficient evidence to question the Ramseys version of events while keeping an open mind about an intruder. That is more or less my position now; that we don't know which was the case but that there is sufficient evience to question the Ramseys version of events. If they, in the final analysis, can all be explained, then I'm happy to hear that the parents of 6 year old child had nothing to do with her death.
That was my understanding, too.
The media strikes again, I'd say that's why.
As for Wecht and Baden and the others, they are ready to laugh this prosecutor to scorn and out of office and all the way back to the day she was born.
They are so heavily invested in it being the Ramseys, and also in it not being someone as kooky as Karr, that they are are about to "bust" wide open.
I still don't claim to know, but Karr's gotta be ruled in or out, and I don't believe the Ramseys did it.
After ten years of investigation, a grand jury that refused to indict plus the arrest of a globe trotting pedophile and you still feel there is sufficient evidence to question the parents version of events?
John Ramsey might just be a symbol. The "Fat cat" reference gives me that idea.
How do you "humble" the rich and powerful to bow to your wishes? Go after their kid!!! It's the only way to reverse that POWER!! That's a Victory!!
Limbergh, Rockefeller....who else??
I do think Karr is a serial killer "at this point".
It was written before her death. There is no "love" of Jonbenet in that letter. It's a John Ramsey "hate letter".
The stationary was a pad, yes?? How many were there? Just one?? My guess is that Karr was in the house a couple of days before.
We think of great planning. But there is great "sporadic" planning, too. Especially, if you've done this before.
Notice that he was willing to comminicate with Mrs. Ramsey but not Mr. Ramsey. This tie might go way back. The name JOHN RAMSEY name is what tickles his brain...not Jonbenet...not Patricia. Why doesn't he refer to her as Mrs. Ramsey??
I think you and I are basically on the same page on how all this went down.
I was t-zing
"he" as in the unknown to us perp or he as john karr being the perp?
You mean...gasp...Patsy didn't write the ransom note to cover for Burke? Or herself? Or her husband?
Shazzam!!
(Only kidding you.)
For the life of me I can't see how Patsy could have ever written that schlock. It was full of veiled and not so veiled references to movie lines and to previous child killings. She asks for 118,000 dollars, the bonus amt her husband would get that year?? Yet smart people think that points to her. Incredible. Of course it points AWAY from her.
And, since she's sooooo religious, she signs it S.B.T.C. which has to mean, SAVED BY THE CROSS?? Incredible.
I could go on but I won't inflict more on you, stlnative,
Give me a break, everyone who says Patsy did this. Please, please, I can't stand it!!
BTW, Sacajaweau thinks the time frame he wrote for them to wait for his call meant something...it gave him the lead time to get away while everyone waited for the call. Wondering about that as a possibility...
IMO both the killer and Karr have a problem with authority figures......Out manipulating them, out smarting them. Karr's controlling issues with his spouses and his being "too strict" in the classroom would also be part of this pattern.
