Obviously, the primary fault is with the killer. But I don't think it's advisable to simply ignore the contribution of parents or anyone else who has taken actions which could reasonably be expected to put a child at risk. If a family visits Manhattan with their young daughter, and lets her go exploring the Times Square area by herself after dark, and the girl gets kidnapped and forced into the child porn industry, obviously the kidnappers and pornographers are the most guilty parties, but it was also completely irresponsible of the parents to put their naive little girl at such risk.
Pointing out the danger of certain activities that parents allow or encourage their children to participate in, helps other parents think twice before following the same course, and thus can save other children from horrible fates. I will not apologize for pointing such things out, because the safety of innocent children is far more important than enabling irresponsible parents to feel good about themselves by not letting them hear negative things said about their choices.
You have to remember this was ten years ago...before Fox and FR...we were spoon fed all these *facts* by the MSM......
Of course...parents have the responsiblity..no - the duty to protect their children from harm.
But who says that child beauty pageants are harmful?
Whether you do or don't none of this (makeup, clothing, posing) justifies in any way the killing of a child or anyone by a pervert.
No extenuating circumstances. period. none.
