An arrest in the JonBenet Ramsey case is due to happen "shortly," according to sources in our newsroom -- I know I can't post the link to our site (we're a Gannett station, and despite the "ban", I would welcome the traffic), but most of you know where I work and what the site is...
According to our sister station in Denver, an arrest took place early this morning in Thailand.
Stand by for details and updates as they come in.
stuff i read in the investigator's tell-all book about the case a couple of years ago:
although they didnt want to take chances in front of a jury on the matter, several hand-writing experts were prepared to testify that it was undoubtedly patsy's handwriting. furhtermore, the ransom note was made on a tablet of paper from within the house, and written inside the house. one page not used contained the beginnings of a letter, a straight line up and down as if to make an M or whatever. but the pen used to write the note was carefully placed back in the pen holding cup, if i recall. the big question being: why would a small foriegn faction wait until they had actually entered the house and abducted the girl before writing the note? isnt that a risky place to write a ransom note? the lead investigator wrote a book where he opined that jon benet wet the bed, and patsy freaked on her, and was coursely wiping her private area, perhaps while jon benet was standing on the edge of the tub, when jon benet lost her footing and hit her head on the tub. the rest, according to the investigator, was all staged. thus the same clothes the next morning, the note, etc. the investigator further concluded that john ramsey actually did find the body by surprise and put two and two together while being interogated by the cops, but didnt say anything.
Details will come out in the coming days/weeks/months.
Ultimately we will not be on the jury for this trial.
We may learn whether or not the mother played ANY role in her daughter's death and whether she died without clearing her name.
.
Dunno.
With today's technology, it was really just a matter of time until this piece of human debris committed another crime and got his DNA in the database.
I think the angle in the story that Patsy withheld information about the true identity of the killer is a bunch of BS.
Let this be a lesson for all of us. Especially in the Natalee Holloway case.
sw
Do you know for sure she is guilty?
So very true!
Siam??? I just want to be different.
Well, at this point that seems more likely than your theory of a deceased Patsy Ramsey being arrested in Thailand today.

"I hope my suspicions are wrong and that Patsy didn't withhold important information about the identity of the killer....not wanting it to be known until after she died."
What?
No sane mother would do that. Your suspicions are ALL wrong.
The other FR thread says he was a teacher from Atlanta. Was JonBenet ever living in Atlanta? The connection seems to be to the mom somehow. A family friend?
of course not but there are many things that point in her direction...or at least that she was involved in a coverup.
I didn't cry for Jon Benet....I cry and still do thinking of Jennifer Short...the little girl who probably witnessed who parents being killed, then was dragged away, raped,I presume, and killed, left to rot in a creek....that family had no money and no influence.....
Gee, Greta, ya think??? I wonder how much money she makes for those profound observations..
