First time I've ever heard of it. Must be a wacky Durham thing.

Huh?

I could just as easily be a source that says there MAY be matching DNA under the whore's fingernail. Don't we already know about this anyway?

Nodong is using all resources he can muster to carry his water (since he isn't supposed to be talking), so we see the Herald-Sun is nothing more than a mouthpiece for Nodong. They should be verbally horsewhipped by the community for this stunt.

I guess I'm missing your point. What does a new judicial appointment have to do with why these two law professors have access to prosecution information?

I don't know what the boys and their families are thinking on this subject of returning to Duke, but, were it I, I would return. There's no way I'd let a bunch of lying race whores, two-bit hacks like Nodong and Brodhead, a street whore and an embezzler run me out of my education and degree from a top-flight university. No way.

To get DNA samples from stray dogs and cats?

To prosecute stray dogs and cats for urinating in public?

I thought they were allowed to complete their spring courses over the summer -- not by attending classes, but through home study and consultation with their professors.

That's what I hoped the university would let them do until this matter is cleared up. Maybe they could sign up for classes taught by sympathetic (reasonable) profs and then "attend" the classes via videotape or conference cam. If they aren't taking science courses with lab work, why couldn't this be done? Or maybe they could take classes at a local college that would transfer to Duke. I'd hate to see them waste a year.

When does the lacrosse season start? (I know nothing about lacrosse.)

Hiya, Jezebelle!

You forgot about the black cook. He's not very happy about this "arrangement." He should bring a civil suit against Gottlieb.

Ya' know, in the current context, a funny thought occurs to me. There are two USCs. Doesn't anyone else think it's funny that one is the 'Cocks and the other is the Trojans? Coincidence? I'm just sayin'.

I know. It is um....odd, isn't it?

FWIW, I'm a Trojan. LOL.

You are correct. But if Thomas get a pay-off from Gottlieb or on his behalf, he'll be made "whole" and happy.

I am curious who may be working behind the scenes for a judgeship appointment. There was a H-S article, no longer available, listing some candidates.

Duke is a top rated Division One program. Division I programs practice throughout the school year. There is "Fall-Ball" and the official season is in the spring. (All you ever wanted to know about the sport-right? LOL)

Finnerty and Georgetown justice

First we have the Schick case from 2002, in which a drunken student in Georgetown struck and accidently killed another student, for which he was assigned to write a ten page paper on the incident. (He was free to return to Georgetown the next night and imbibe, if he wished).

http://www.dailypennsylvanian.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2002/12/12/3df81ece380fd

Then we have the case of a student who drunkenly fell
into a refrigerator (2005)

http://www.thehoya.com/news/050206/news1.cfm

When the restaurant manager tried to help him up, the student repeatedly punched him, causing him to have a black eye and a chipped tooth.
The student was charged only with "simple assault" (i.e., no physical contact!)

In another case, three students beat up another, throwing him down some stairs and kicking him about the head.

Another student pushed a police officer so that the officer was thrown off balance.

In all of the above, charges were dismissed after completion of a diversion agreement and community service.

Finnerty never struck anyone, but yelled at someone after he was struck and knocked down.
He was then accused falsely
of rape, which--if it occured at all--occured when he was several miles away.

Nevertheless, he was still ordered to trial (the DC court
apparently would not look at exculpatory evidence), and sentenced to a $500 fine, 30 days' suspended jail sentence, six months' probation, banned from Georgetown, required to be at full time school or work, possible mandatory alcohol classes, etc. for "simple assault".

I wonder what he could have gotten had he pushed a police officer, broken a manager's tooth, knocked someone down the stairs and kicked them, or killed someone?

“Anyone who qualifies under the terms of the Superior Court’s mediation or diversion programs can apply to participate in those,” said Attorney’s Office spokesman Channing Phillips. “We don’t offer special treatment to anyone. Whether to prosecute someone or not is decided on a case-by-case basis.”

Right. "We don't offer special treatment."

And I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

From the Hoya link:

"Of the seven assault charges lodged against Georgetown students since January 2005 in the area surrounding Georgetown’s campus, five were brought against student-athletes, according to U.S. Attorney’s Office records. Four of the accused are football players and one is a lacrosse player. Of the two non-athletes charged, one was a former Georgetown football player and the other was arrested alongside three football players."

How many were even ID'd?
