a) he was a kind sweet guy.
b) everyone's shocked, SHOCKED.
c) he kept himself to himself.
d) everyone's shocked, SHOCKED, ad nauseam.
Now, this Haq is obviously bananas, but what on earth explains this behaviour?

The reporter is obviously lost as to the relevance of this and so simply moves on.
