Furious finish...
That kind of has a ring to it. I'm going to do so many things with my month of freedom.
I'm going to read some good books, dote over my gorgeous little nephew (he just turned 4 months), go to D.C. (I can probably only afford a couple of days), and start a new quilt. Maybe one day I'll find a nature trail somewhere and just walk.
...chat with your new friends on FR...
Ah, the month of freedom. Life be my wild adventure! Getting to sleep in every day, hang with family, do fun activities...and the nature trails don't hurt, either.
Hey, I'm jealous!
I haven't had a significant amount of free time in I don't even know how long. Even summers in college weren't totally free because I had to work most days. And unless you call flying home from law school on the holidays a "vacation" I've never had one before. This is definitely a first.
And yes, I take it as a given I will have some time to chat with my Freeper friends (after the next few days are over).
Goodnight, and talk to you soon.
Leaving so soon? I normally don't take as long to respond as I have been, but it's been a busy night.
When I got out of college, I had nothing but free time (no plan for what to do post-college, I'm afraid). In fact, I kind of didn't know what to do for almost a year, and after we moved to NC (I'm from GA originally), I got a little sidetracked.
I can say it was fun at times, but mostly my days of unemployment were pretty boring.
I'm good now, though.
TAG!
You're it...
How was your day???
I fell asleep on the couch. Hung outside. (Just got in.) Watched a movie with hubby earlier. It was peaceful.
How was your day? Working on your freeptoon?
Yeah, doing that right now.
The best part is, for months now, I've wanted a day off where I didn't have to do anything. I mean, I have to do something EVERY DAY OFF...run errands, go buy things, do housework, yadda yadda yadda...
it looks like my dream is finally coming true tomorrow. I get to sit on my butt and do nothing, at last!
I almost got in trouble at work today for the most embarrassing reason.
Uh oh! What happened?
I was about to go to lunch, when my boss stopped me and said "Are you getting back from lunch?"
I told him I was just now going. So he very sternly said, "Where were you?"
I'm like, "I don't really, um...want to tell you." But he looked like he was mad about something, so I confessed. "I was...in the bathroom...taking care of business."
Turns out, I was in there, and the other guy in my department was in the backroom working the cardboard crusher (a very noisy machine).
So our department got paged for a price check, but neither of us heard it. He was working with a noisy machine, and I was in the bathroom. So after a while, the customer got angry and stomped out of the store without buying anything. Our manager seemed pretty mad about it.
But what could we do?
So neither of us got in trouble, but the bad part is I had to tell where I was.
Hate it when that happens. Been in that situation many times. Nothing to be embarrassed about though. I always just say "I was in the ladies room" and that ends the conversation right there. It happens. When nature calls, nature calls.
Are you working on a new freeptoon?
Well, you know the problems I have with public restrooms already. Things like that don't help my issues.
BTW, found a GREAT flash cartoon that perfectly sums up all my bathroom woes:

This guy gets it exactly right.
There's a lady's version, too.
But of course.
OMG! I just watched the men's one. Too funny! I will play the girl's one now.
Okay. The Ladies version sucked completely. Don't bother watching it.
Already did.
Strange that you would find the men's one funny but the women's one not so.
