Hal Lindsey--"UNCOVERED: RUSSIAN-SYRIAN-IRANIAN AXIS
For students of Bible prophecy, even the title of this communiqué should set off alarm sirens. I just received some electrifying intelligence data. First, from the Debka-Net-Weeklys briefing. And second, from some personal intelligence sources (I carefully guard) that confirm Debkas report....."

Hal Lindsey predicted in his bestseller that the Apocalypse was coming in the generation following the founding of Israel in 1948.
BTW, are you saying that you read Greek and Hebrew?
We are closer to His return today than we were yesterday. It is fascinating speculation as to when that will be!
Reading Hal Lindsey's book brought me back into the church and helped re-establish my faith.

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
I think Hal will have LOTS of lasting fruit to lay at Our Lord's feet in eternity. Haven't always agreed with him on everything.
But I was enabled to listen to him in person at a small church leaders lunch once. He's a very authentic person. I have a lot of respect for him.
I appreciate also that he has a lot of connections with folks who know far more than we do about what's going on in Israel.
and even around the world.
If Russia wanted Iran or Syria to have nukes then, why not just give them some? Gulp! Maybe they already have?
Yes
I would like to read about those seals already opened.
but a single generation in bible language i think is around sixty years. i wish someone would really get the quotes on which he was wrong--i would like to know if it is true or not. lots of people attempt to understand prophecy and just because they dont have the interpretation perfect (e.g., common market vs. european union--aren't both variations on the same theme--resurrection of some form of the roman govt.) does not mean they are all washed up. now giving a prophecy and getting it wrong is a completely different matter though.....i don't recall hal being a prophet ever.
Somebody ...quick forward this to Jack Van Impe and Roxanna!!!!!!
again--a generation is a long time in the bible -- i believe that we can't quite give up on that until we see the baby boomer generation over. there are many that are seeing some significance to the year 2012 which happens to be the end of the mayan calendar as well. the teachers i heard were discussing the concept of the sabbath for the earth at which point the millenium begins.
First thank you for telling me where to find Hal's statement on coming of Christ.
Point one: The statement in Mat.24:35: Is that really a statement of reality or is God making a point that His word is what is meant as important. After all are those saved not supposed to be with him for Eternity, for ever and ever? Will answer more in the next points.
2 Peter 3:10 Heaven and earth shall pass away. Yes, the atmosphere is one heaven , there are three you know. That heaven will of course be burnt up with the earth. I doubt that He will burn up the heaven where you and I will be with him for eternity. As for earth, changing the earth by fire and having no seas is not doing away with earth. Only as we know it now. That is not the "end of the World". We know that after all this there will still be people here whether in flesh or spirit souls I don't know but the Bible states there will be believers on earth.
And lastly: I have books of Hebrew English and Greek English translations and is easy to look up the original meanings of things. I do not speak the languages as you mean. Example: "thou shalt not kill" in the original is "thou shalt not murder". Makes sense as killing a criminal for murder etc. is not a sin in the Bible but actual Murder is. The Hebrew word is "Murder" not kill. You can believe in the Death penalty as that is not murder but justice.
I would like to read about those seals already opened.
Check Revelation out. It is..uh...a revelation.
Say what you will about Hal Lindsey (whose books I read as a boy), but there is truth to this: Russia (as is China) have been actively working against us. We ignore these realities at our peril.
Well....uh....... I am of the belief that no seals have been opened. My question was meant to learn why you said seals have been opened.
Sorry to...... uh.... have bothered you.
"My question was meant to learn why you said seals have been opened."
I don't know. I was just throwing it out there for consumption. Get people thinkin'.
As to the other things, I believe the Temple will be rebuilt, and a treaty will be signed before the end times come. I also like Jack Hayford's take on the rapture. He's a pan-tribulationist. According to him, when God says, it's time, he's saying, "works for me." I can't imagine anyone saying, "Hey, put me back! It's not time yet!"
Many of the things we're seeing today ARE prophecies being fulfilled. The very existence of Israel is one. If you read 19th century biblical scholars, you'll find that few expected the actual country of Israel to exist again. Most of them thought the church had taken the place of Israel, and that references to Israel in Apocalyptic writing were references to the church. I see things happening that indicate a ratcheting towards the end. Where most people predicting the end time, IMHO, mess up is, they think every ratchet is the last one before the return of Christ.
As a last note, many people say "when will the tribulation start?" This, to me, is a rather parochial, westernized way of looking at things. In the United States, we do not endure tribulation, other than a possible risk of losing a job or something. In Somalia, China, all of Islam, the old Soviet Union, about 3/4 of the world, there is tribulation. Christians are murdered simply for being Christians. The capitulation to Islam in Europe goes beyond cowardice. There is a spiritual veil over their eyes. I do not know when the end will come, but I think it's safe to say that all we've seen so far are tiny fragments of what's to come.
Thanks for your input about Hal Lindsay and end-times. I for one truly believe.........
that Jesus may return sooner than some people might think.....the important thing we should be planning for the future, but living like He could come today.
As for ALGORE and his global warming, just maybe the Lord is allowing things to heat up, did anyone even give that a thot. He says in His Word that he won't destroy the world by flood again, but by fire....that's what the rainbow was all about ....NOT a flag to represent the gay community. It was a promise that he would not destroy the earth with another flood.
I agree with you that prophecies are being fulfilled daily and that so many people in other countries are being tortured and dying for their faith in Jesus Christ and somehow I don't believe that God is going to let America skate on that one. I've heard it said, If God destroyed Sodam and Gommorah for it's wickedness, what then will He do with America? If He lets America go free, then will he have to apologize to Sodam and Gommorah? IMHO, I think we will get a good glimpse of the 'beginning of sorrows' and God is going to allow us know what we are being spared from, before he takes us out of this wicked world. I don't for a minute believe He's just going to snatch us out, never having known what he's sparing us from. I think we'll be knowing alot more about grief, doing without and having to learn to depend on the Lord even for our very sustanance. Do we know anything yet of depending totally on God to supply, not our wants, but our needs? I feel it is something that we all need to think about. Right now, America is a very divided nation...according to the word of God....it cannot stand.....then what?
What's next? Think about it.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. I also like Jack's thoughts on this issue.
