The gay dude on Oprah on Tuesday
oprah winfrey show

Posted on 07/26/2006 10:46:29 PM PDT by GodfearingTexan

Tuesday they had this gay dude on Oprah who was talking about how methamphetamines destroyed his life (it was part of a larger program about meth). Anyway, I've been waiting for someone to comment about it on here. The guy basically collaborated what Slate magazine (I think) said last year about how there was a segment of the gay population in SF, CA who were called "bug-chasers" who go around TRYING to get AIDS. The liberal press and all those whose livelihoods depend on AIDS funding immediately denounced the author for making stuff up and or picking a segment of the population that was not the norm. According to this dude on Oprah, that is more the norm than people know.

Had to get a response from y'all.

From Wikipedia:

Though the practice of bug chasing seems incredibly risky and, in a worst case scenario, tantamount to suicide, interviews with "chasers" have identified recurring motivations for participating in the activity. Among these motivations:

* Some find relief from "condom fatigue", and feel that they don't have to worry about getting infected or worrying about changes in their HIV status.

* Some believe that HIV is simply a chronic manageable disease, like diabetes, and that the new drugs promise them a long and healthy life. (Modern antiviral therapy is extremely expensive, can still have painful and unpleasant side-effects, and does not cure or ultimately stop the progression of the disease.)

* Some couples see infecting the other partner as the deepest level of intimacy.

* Some men report that the element of danger in sexual encounters of this kind (including the "Russian roulette" activity) adds to the "rush" of arousal.

* There are men who, once infected, feel like they finally "belong" to a "fraternity" of infected men.

Just damn.

Yes, I have read that being HIV-positive is a badge of honor in the sodomite community.
The sodomites don't want AIDS, but they do want the kind of HIV that's controllable with prescription drug cocktails. You know - - the nice kind of HIV like Magic Johnson has.

This has to be some form of mental derangement......"As proof of my love I'm going to attempt to infect you with a condition that will kill you." Can you imagine ANY OTHER MEDICAL CONDITION that would be viewed in this way???

It's just another symptom of a larger mental derangement.

I remember reading about this a few years ago. It's not really that big of a surprise to me. They are so deluded about the disease that they see it as some sort of badge of honor. "Hollywood celebrities proudly wear red ribbons because of my plight." It is all about them, after all. They also think that there is going to be a cure for this disease in the near future--again denial.

I have a friend that has full-blown AIDS. She was diagnosed in 1990 with HIV. She had her first case of pneumonia a few years ago. Her T-cells hover from zero to maybe the double digits. Last spring I found her in total respiratory failure (she had the death rattle in her lungs--that is a horrible sound), and she spent weeks in a hospital, then on to a nursing home. She has brain cancer, problems with her liver, is blind in one eye, and is rapidly wasting away. It is horrendous and painful; she suffers from dementia and wears a diaper as she has continual bouts of uncontrollable diarrhea. She looks as if she is 70, and she is only 43.

These bug-chasers are complete and total idiots. They really should be careful what they wish for.

"a cure for this disease in the near future"? Probably not too soon, I agree, but I'm sure that if/when we find a cure, some idiot "bug-chaser" will quickly get himself RAIDS, a Re-Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

Is this still the same world that I was born into?

I don't think so.

I wouldn't be so quick to yawn beings that the sodomites purposely infiltrate occupations where they have access to children.
No act of depravity is taboo in their minds.

Soooooooo dramatic. The truth isn't as grand. Get AIDS and Social Security Disability is there every month -- free this, free that, and the disease is mild, very mild, by 1982 standards. HIV is a lifetime of free monthly cash.
