He puts creamer in the cup, licks his hand, shakes sugar on it, licks the sugar off of his hand, then takes a big "swig" out of the jar of instant coffee, followed by a bug-eyed expression.

Once, I brewed water. I set everything up and forgot to put the basket with the coffee in it in the coffeemaker. See, I needed coffee to think straight to do that right, so I screwed it up. I got a nice pot full of hot water.

That was about the time I started setting it up the night before and using the timer thingie.

Allegra! How goes things???? Well I hope over there?

I had to chime in - just got back from scout camp with 7 boys. My 13 year old son was going to make some camp coffee for me... He set it all up and I waited and waited and waited for it to perc over the fire. Pretty soon I started to smell burned coffee - but still no PERC! I got the pliers to lift the pot off the fire and noticed it was VEEEERY light... he added the coffee in the strainer but no water... :(

Nothing worse than salivating for 20 minutes waiting for that cup of coffee only to find out ya gotta start it all over... :)
