The Dragonflies Lair~Thread XXIX

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Aw eyes hurting again?? Did you get the new sleeping aide??

Must be allergies. I am sorry.

Me bones bother me. Although I am better tonight, it has been agony for most of the week. I have been resting a lot today. That helps.

Eyes not bothering, just drooping. LOL! I'm pre-pooped this evening.

Those bones of yours again. Does weather affect it? Is it arthritis?

My rheumatologist told me I have arthritis in my knees and hands and I hardly ever know it. My hands have been aching the last couple days, however, and I was wondering if it was the barometric pressure or some weather thingy, 'cause the weather's been so weird.

The Weekend World

Taking time to sing a song
silly and and a bit sad
whenever I get to feeling bad
letting the blues take me along

Jukebox mix fills the night
and a tall whiskey fills the glass
tapping my toe and eyeing a fair lass
wondering if we'll get it right

Weekends are the time for finding out
seeing what the possibilities are like
tell your weekdays to take a hike
its time for you and life to have a bout

Dance to a tune as she laughs with you
dine her fair and treat her nice
for a gentleman always pays the price
and only resorts to an Irish lie or two

Yupper, I do have arthritis in my knees, hips, toes, etc. Weather is a big factor. We have been having so much humidity here all this week raining since Wednesday.

You have been having rains too, haven't you??

I have meds I take for it, but they are not working so well in all this humidity.Honest when I roll over in bed I night I hear my joints creak and grind. Strange sounds in the night. ;)

I did so love the hot dry weather of Las Vegas.

The Weekend World

Nice one.

Weekends are not the same
when the silver turns to Grey
not the same thoughts of dancing
rarely come my way

Thoughts of dates long gone dormant
dancing on canes not to pleasant
but dancing to the muse is sweet
in my mansion retreat.

In Las Vegas I saw, the lame dance
and have a ball, while Tony Orlando belted
out the tunes, old gents left wheelchairs
to kick up their heels, with a pretty young lady
swaying away.
He danced until he was out of breath, then quickly
sat in his chair and took a good hit
from his oxygen tank hooked to his chair
he looked quite content sitting there.

At least the outdoors will be greener.

Waterbeds are pretty cheap if you think you'd ever consider one. I swear by it and all my friends who got them love them. There are no pressure points on a waterbed. If you ever get near a store that sells them, lay on one for a while. The fewer baffles, the more open mattress the better.

For now, rest well. We're going to be hotter and more humid here for the next 5-7 days. I'll pray for your comfort and your weather to get more forgiving.

*Hugs*

Oh, dear you are in for the humidity.

The temp tonight is 72F with 89% humidity. I do have the a/c running so it's bearable indoors. ;)

Gonna turn in soon. *HUGS*

Thou art truly gifted with the magic of imagery
swift and sure your works to amuse and astound
taking us on a visual fairytale so bright
tis a wonderment if you aren't the King's Visualist!

The Elder of Zion

Jesus walks
in Lebanon,

Jesus weeps
in Great Tehran;

Jesus loves
in Tel Aviv;

Jesus dies
in all of these.

(Perhaps my recent poem wasn't in the "spirit" of the other poems on this list, but poetry isn't always about making folks happy. Sometimes it's about anger --check out the Psalms. Anyway, there was no intent to offend, unless the attitudes I wrote about are yours. This one is perhaps more suited to this venue)

Chrono-scription

The soft sand flows like water
around each outcropping and stone
in the gentle tide of the night wind
flowing in a whisper over the hill

Striving each hollow to fill
for on such is fate’s hope pinned
giving no time for wrongs to atone
and so judged by history, time’s daughter

Thank you, it came to me as I looked over an picture of Ireland ruins. Thinking of all that might have been said, done, or dreamed, of by those ancient lives we will never know. The goods and the bads forever locked in history, and forgetting or forgiveness denied by the act of passing time.
