The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 06/28/2006 10:14:11 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Just used the last drop of lighter fluid. I'll have to get a chimney before Sunday.

It must have been enough fluid...the coals have caught. Gonna put on some hamburgers in a little bit.

You reminded me....went over to theneighborlady's house to get today's newspaper out of sight.

Went over and he was there with (I assume) his wife and several others, plus R. They were pretty busy talking, so I just kinda said "hi, here's my rent payment, nice ta meet you..."

I still don't know his name...oops. Had him write it on the check as I'm not that good at understanding his accent, not to mention spelling stuff right once I understand the pronunciation.

SO there's that. But they pretty much said "Yes, all terms are the same for now - we'll send you a more official notice when things calm down a bit."

Well, good, at least you've introduced yerself now.

We're planning red meat 'dinner' to be early... about 2-3 ish - what do you think of that?

I'm enjoying another liverwurst sandwich with tomato, mayo and cheese. I just found out that Steve must have shot the tomato with a bb gun. Thankfully I saw the bb and didn't break a tooth!

I'm also eating a garden-fresh cucumber with yogurt.

Hey, I put up a new auction...

Tachyon drives, maybe. However, I think that ion propulsion system you mentioned is employed by UFO's. That's why the photos of 'em are usually blurry :-D

Either, so long as there is warp drive and effective cloaking device.

I'm celebrating the Fourth of July by working, and putting the (meager) overtime money to our Hobbit Hole project. Still, I redecorated for the occasion:
