Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well...that's what I call it. It gets pretty depressin' when the Cubs and the Tar Heels overlap.
To: g'nad
But it wasn't a *happy* dream. Just bizarre.
I didn't even get any cookies or pizza out of the deal.

I'll bet that was music to your ears; glad to hear you'll be off on Saturdays, novel concept that, good for you and your family.

Good evening!
It's pouring buckets out there! Steve is doing a stormwater sampling. The jedis are down for the night.
No tv...just a nice loud thunderstorm!

In other news, we were supposed to have our wine small group tonight. I ended up going. The Mrs. stayed home. Here's the story...
Nana was doing fine most of the day. I worked in the yard and the Mrs. was doing work for her job at the computer as well as running to the store, making desert to take tonite, etc.
Because she spent most of the day in her room, we didn't get to tell her our plans until about 3:00. After wife got back from the store after 4:00 Nana said "then I guess I should get my shower now." 'Course that didn't work anymore 'cause wife had to get ready and we were supposed to be there at 5:00. FWIW, we've encouraged her to get her shower earlier in the day especially on the days I'm working in the yard.
Anyway, a little before five she starts throwing up. She kept saying she wanted to go to the emergency room. But that wasn't going to happen. So, wife stayed with her and I went on to dinner.
There may not be any connection at all, but I can't help but wonder why she was fine up until we were getting ready to go.
Wife has to travel Monday-Wednesday next week. So we've arranged for Sister MHB to come and get Luke and take him home to her house for a couple of days. He'll be delighted and we won't have to worry. We just couldn't bring ourselves to ask her to come stay here.
Sister MHB did say that Nana had mentioned to her that she wasn't taking her meds properly. Wife just reassumed control of those. Maybe that's what's messed things up.
So, there's that.

So there's that. Good luck, as always.
Sister MHB is still a great character name. :~)

There is a lizard loose in our house.
ecurbh picked up his shoe and this thing flipped off onto the floor and scurried under the couch. We upended the couch, but no lizard was found.

Sister MHB might have mentioned the medication thing previously ...!
Ah, Corin ... it's so hard to know what's right.
How's she doing this evening?

And where the heck are the monsters?
All my cats loved catching lizards and cockroaches. I would rescue the lizards, 'cause they're cute.

Tweek was on it.... stared under the couch for awhile, but now she's gone off on to other pursuits. :~\
I would have saved it too, if we'd have caught it.

Yeah, she asked sister not to say anything. Guess she thought she'd get it straightened out.
I haven't talked to her this evening, but she seems to have settled down.

Beauty is distractible ...
What in particular pulled her interest from the lizard?
And what kind of lizard are we talking about? A chamelon? Surely not a horned toad?

Huh...I didn't realize there were lizards of any kind here.
There were *tons* of little green ones in Italy. They were everywhere.
To: Rose in RoseBear
Little brown lizard...
We don't see a lot of lizards around... I don't know their names :~)
15-20 different things have had Tweek's interest since the incident, she's a flibbertigibbet.

Speaking of great character names, for Nanowrimo, would you prefer to be:
Verlabeana Frapplestein: The somewhat ordinary waitress who does not yet know she is the heiress to a prophecy.
OR
Piulinda Smellingham: The (pretend) socialite who is really a mystic and the keeper of the ancient prophecy.
You'd be great as either.
