Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Vertigo's been bugging me again. Like walking through a rolling barrell in a funhouse, you know? Woohooo! I made it up and out of bed and clear to the hall this morning before plowing into the wall.
I'm sure it's sinus pressure causing it...I also have had a splitting sinus headache for the past two days.

Oh dear.... We don't want you plowing into walls! Have you taken any decongestants or anything?

I took some benadryl last night and some Advil. The other stuff makes me feel worse than the vertigo! Heh!
The vertigo used to make me real sick...nauseated. Motion sickness, you know? They trained me long ago how to overcome that and now really, it's not much more than an interesting phenomenon. I belonged to an online support group for people that had the same troubles and man, they really complained about it. Well, they may or may not have had it worse than me, but I just determined I wouldn't complain, I'd just enjoy the ride! Ha! I really worked on getting over the nausea and once I got that under control I could laugh at my predicament!
I told you about the time I dove head first into the wall when the tornado alerts went off in the night? I thought it was hysterical.

Do you have any days-off built up? We could have dad make an appointment one day, and drive up there, hang out at the beach while it's being worked on.That might could work...
If I'm going to be told it's going to cost $1500 or some such to fix this time...I'd at least like to know if it's the truth so I can make an informed decision.

I also have
positional nystagmus, where if I put my head back in a certain position, the vertigo kicks in, and my eyes rhythmically and uncontrollably jerk in one direction. I used to lay down at work and my fellow nurses would gather around and I'd tilt my head back in that position and the jerking would start...so they got a bit of a nystagmus inservice! LOL!
I wouldn't do it very often though...it really made me queazy.

Sinus headaches are the worst, I won't tolerate 'em, cause they never go away. We take Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Wal-phed PE during the day and save the generic Actifed for nighttimes. We used to take Actifed twice a day but then it was rationed to fight the war on drugs. LSA

Let me know what day would work best, and what issues you want looked at, and I'll have dad make an appt.

LOL!
Well, the dizziness, the nystagmus and the hearing loss are all related...it all began at the same time, when the cold virus I got from Matthew (he got it at daycare) attacked the nerve between my ear and brain.
Just one of those things...

Let me ask what folks' plans are here, and I'll let you know!
The drive up will probably be scary, though. :-\ That's my only worry.
To: RosieCotton
Scary why? Is the van safe to drive, or are you just fearing the freeway?

Oh, it's safe to drive, though it pulls to one side and has for a year or more - that's the repair the last place said was too expensive to be worth it, remember? So in traffic in unfamiliar places, it makes me really nervous.
So...both, I guess. ;-)
To: RosieCotton
I just needed to know if the fear was mental or because of mechanical issues. If you don't want to drive it that far, I'd suggest Gary's.

No more issues than it's always had. Mostly just traffic worries...which I guess means it's good for me to do that drive, really.
