The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 06/28/2006 10:14:11 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I rather like Tarzhay. OK, so they're basically just a Wal-mart with a different color scheme, but they're also small enough you can find everything and usually not at all crowded.

It's the crowds that most bother me about Wal-mart. *shudder* That and the fact that they're HUGH and yet usually only have one or two types of each paticular item - just a lot of them. So you search and search and search and still usually don't find what you want. At least...that's how it works for me.

His only real flaw is the way he starts dripping if he even *suspects* I might yell at him. *sigh*

Well, that and the fact that he's psycho... ;-)

I think kitties should come with molars. That way they can chew their cat grass...

I haven't seen too many big spiders here, except daddy-longlegs.

In any case, at least spiders are easily squishable. Unlike cockroaches...ungh.

Would you like the hack better if it were better chewed up? :~)

If it were better chewed up, it wouldn't be hacked at all!

Yesterday, I had mail from some of the troops. Specifically, a 3x5 American flag, a certificate, and a group photo.

I scanned the photo and the certificate. I made a few changes for opsec reasons to the group photo.

The certificate can't really be posted here for security reasons, but I made quickie scans of both, and can email them to whoever wants to print or store your copy on your computer.

Here's some modern cavalry troopers, recipients of assorted Hobbit Hole knives, posing with one of their steeds.

I'm not sure. It was big and black with really long legs.

I can't find a pic yet, but when I do - I'll post it.

I like Tarzhay better than WalMart. It's more organized and cleaner.
