Many folks have to believe that the parents in this case contributed to their daughters fate. If not, they would have to cope with the awful idea that bad things can happen to children regardless of the attentiveness of the parents and that something like this could happen to their kids.

When we hear of the death of a child in a home or the death of a spouse, we automatically look to the parents/spouse.

It makes perfect sense since the majority of cases the parents/spouse is responsible. I usually jump right onto that bandwagon and initially did so with the JonBenet case.

However, after learning more about the case, seeing how bad the police and their CSI unit handled evidence at the scene. How they completely overlooked evidence of a break-in. DNA found on JonBenet not consistent with anyone in the family was not even looked into. When I learned about this I changed my mind.
