Regarding the beauty pageant thing, ................. Let me just address this RABBIT TRAIL briefly and then go on. It is a cultural thing and nothing more. I too find it to be embarassing and obnoxious but it has NOTHING to do with this case. That some of you would bring it up in this thread as important is a waste of time. ..... IMHO

...I made the mistake of going to the link and saw her little hand...

...No mother should be dressing up their little girl in feathers and boas and hotpants and pancake makeup and bleached & teased hair.....good mercy!

Poor little baby...what a life she led...

It was brought to our attention during the publicity of this case. I had never heard of these pageants before and yes they became quite naturally a subject of discussion then, and many people formed opinions about them.

To dress little girls that way so prematurely is a shocking oddity and it was impossible to avoid conversation on the topic then and now. It received much attention on television and even on talk radio, if you recall.
