According to Fox News, Patsy Ramsey, mother of Jonbenet Ramsey has passed away from ovarian cancer.
When we hear of the death of a child in a home or the death of a spouse, we automatically look to the parents/spouse.
It makes perfect sense since the majority of cases the parents/spouse is responsible. I usually jump right onto that bandwagon and initially did so with the JonBenet case.
However, after learning more about the case, seeing how bad the police and their CSI unit handled evidence at the scene. How they completely overlooked evidence of a break-in. DNA found on JonBenet not consistent with anyone in the family was not even looked into. When I learned about this I changed my mind.

Yes, I agree - I, too, think she didn't do it, and may she rest in peace. But a part of me has always thought she did know who did it, and was tormented by that. Now, imho, she has rest from that torment, but the murder trail is a little colder...
Great Minds Think Alike
WHen you know the authorities think you murdered your daughter and refused to explore other avenues what would you do? Stand there and say arrest me now or later?
The smartest thing anyone can do is get a lawyer in that situation.
In their defense, they did exactly that. It wasn't until the police refused to look into evidence the police found at the house, refused to release the body of JonBenet for burial and would only focus on the parents that they "lawyered up".
Even after that the Ramseys continued to take lie detector tests (passed them all) giving hand writing analysis (neither of them) gave hair, blood and semen samples (no match).
In many ways the Ramseys were found guilty and sentenced by the press. Yet the police could not even get a grand jury, where ONLY the prosecution is represented, to come back against the parents.
Off the top of my head.
Ahhh, the press. The great American Institution fighting for Truth, Justice and the American Way! [end sarcasm]
How can we judge her? The police, prosecutors and others poured over the evidence. Evidently it was not sufficient to implicate her. Consequently, I consider her not guilty.
I don't think she did it either.
I doubt we'll ever know who did.
That's an ugly death. Hope she and her little girl are both in heaven.
See post 45. Ovarian cancer leads to other cancers which actually cause death. Both reports are correct depending on how its looked at. Brain cancer could have killed her and it was caused by Ovarian cancer.
The Boulder PD screwed this investigation up from the git-go. Plus back then as a rule, perverts were not as brazen as to steal a child out of her own bed and so the finger of accusation was pointed at the family. Now we know there is no end as to what a pervert will do to get a child. This is probably one case that will never be resolved.
Considering that CBS usually have their heads up their @sses, I can see how they would get this mixed up.
When a female is murdered, the males (men) around her,or who were once connected to her, have to understand that the police will eventually knock on their door. When a young girl is murdered, the father, stepfather, uncles, older brothers, male neighbors, clergyman, male teachers, etc *must* expect to be contacted by the cops.
If my young daughter (or son) was murdered and I knew that I wasn't responsible,I'd
1)Call a lawyer.
2)Cooperate *fully* with any/all requests made of me by the police (lie detectors,DNA samples, phone records, interrogation sessions, etc, etc) *regardless* of what my lawyer advised.
And under *no* circumstances would I hire a PR firm.Regardless of how loudly my lawyer demanded that I do so.
Yes, when anyone dies it is news.
This mother went through allot. It is especially sad.
I just heard Aaron Spelling died.
My brain is foggy on the details. I'd have to go back and research. I think they did all of those things, although I am not sure about the lawsuit.
I am not arguing or trying to be contrary. All I am saying is one of the smartest things anyone can do in that situation is hire a criminal defense lawyer.
I'm with you. I can't begin to imagine losing a child, but then to be put through a meatgrinder and all the accusations, and the firmly held belief of some on this threat that you were responsible for that death, just had to be unbearable. Especially since much of the dislike of the Ramsey's was class envy. Mercifully, she is now at peace. Bless her soul.
