Ya know, I go away for the weekend... every day seems to be a blockbuster. I'm trying to catch up on all that we've learned today and I'm just astonished.
That dreadful Meadows woman just did a 180. Holy smokes! TWO write-on candidates against Nifong?
When is this story going to end?
What "compelling evidence" does Nifong have? And why hasn't he turned it over to the defense?
I hope it ends Thursday when Reid Seligmann goes back in front of Judge Stevens. But I fear he is going to do the easy thing and just pass the buck on to the trial judge. I don't think Nifong has anything. If he did, he was suppose to turn it over to the defense.
He has nothing. He was hoping to string this along until the election. However, he has national attention, defendants from outside of Durham (from the big city), the media now on his butt, and Bennett doin' his thang. It isn't going at all like he planned. He was hoping that the attention would die down, one reason he's pissed at Newsweek and the media, and he could still play his constituancy race card.
One of Nifong's most rabid supporters in the Raleigh News and Oberver, Ruth Sheehan also did a 180 today after being pilloried on thier website by reader comments for a week.
