The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Yes, I sure do miss the water in the street. I much prefer floods
Floods are what we're gettin' right now, though it seems to be drying up some. I swear, I'm growing moss! :-D I hope that you made it through the night ok. Do your horses still have name/address tags on their halters?

Morning. I have my color cordinated halters now:') I decided to wait to try them. I want to go out to the horses this morning but the piano tuner is coming at 10. I would have to hurry and I don't like being rushed so as soon as he is done........

Good Morning.

Rain here today again. Beaker and I wish we could send you people who need it some. Those fires are scary, Duchess.

Great Pics, Bladerider and Frog. In the one, did you guys just go through some water, or are the horses that sweaty? It is probably pretty hot there, even in the forest.

Is this Lakeland your dog too? Where do you find the hours in a day to take care of all of them? To keep them in show shape I mean.

Yes, the Lakeland is mine. I have 4 adults (2 are finished champions and I clipper, 2 I have to strip) and 4 puppies (3 being kept in show coat) I try to squeeze time in every day to do at least one of them, some nights I can't like last night I had to clean saddles from our ride Sunday.

Bad day here for fires, lightening started fires all over the area.

I have been worried about that here to. It is so dry and we have thunder and lightening every afternoon, but no rain. I lived in California for 30 years and we had wild fires al the time, it is scary. Hope they can put them out or divert them and all that ash does not make things to miserable.

I hope all you folks in the areas with fires are safe. I'm in western PA and we have rain coming down in buckets.

Mostly sweat, there was some muddy areas and small creeks but nothing above or even close to the knees. It was pretty humid that day.

He is, not quite 17 h but close! I have a heck of a time hefting my big old bottum up on him. My husband is 6'3" so he is a good size for him.

We have one where he looks like an old mule (no offense to mules). Quite the opposite of this one.

Morning. I have a black (for Okie) and a brown (for Sarah Lee). The tuner hasn't called yet like he said he would, before showing up. I'm leaving at 10:01.
