This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
It looks really good. You guys do real professional work :)
:) That's when I crawl into bed with my electric blanket. The achy and chills sounds like you're catching something so take care of yourself.
I took some motrin. I think I just overdid it today. I can't go to bed yet though. I'm waiting for the storm. The last time my "fantastic" pictures were too dark. I have this flashlite plan this time:')
Thank you :~)
Now we're hitting the couch... dog-tired :~)
What are you going to do with the flashlight?
LOL - never did get my housework done. I sliced apples and they are now in the dehydrator. And got the garden covered with plastic, although it won't stand up to much wind. (and took a nap)
And a well deserved rest I'd say. It is a great job :)
The last time the rain was coming down in sheets , almost sideways. I could see it because of a street light. I don't plan on getting wet tonight but I have an industrial flash lite I thought I could shine on a tree so I could capture it. I agree though that laying in bed , watching a lighting storm is awesome.
I didn't get the trailer washed yet either. I'll do it tomorrow when no one around .
I'm a great admirer of Scarlet O'Hara :) My favorite line is "I'll think about that tomorrow."
Sad to say...I have not seen the movie or red the book. I know the famous lines though:')
I don't think you missed much. It was a verrryyyyy long movie.
When I was a kid you could see a movie as many times as you wanted, once in. I would spend all day watch Elvis movies. The only long movie I remember was Dr. Zhivago (ms I know) I don't know how many times I saw it. It seems like I was there every day that it run. I thought it was so romantic. Probably not what a 10-11 year old should have been watching but my mom didn't know and the theater didn't care.
Boy, I haven't been to a theater in years. Didn't even go for Pirate #2, although I'll buy the DVD as soon as it comes out. At home I can smoke, get up for coffee, etc. and just put everything on pause until I get back. Plus, I don't have to put up with a head in my way in front of me and someone talking behind me. I think perhaps I've gotten pretty grouchy :) and not very tolerant.
Me either. I used to hang out at movies and libraries. Anything to get out of the house. Now I buy my movies and books. Anything to stay in the house:')
Well, I guess I'm going to have to catch the next storm. Night.
Great job on the fence and gate, Hair. My little job of cutting the fence and making a gate, didn't get done yesterday. My helper had to watch a football game.
Good morning:)
Very nice gate hair and ecurbh.
Cindy, and Duchess...Gone with the Wind, is one of my all time favorite books and movie. I like the book best, but the movie was just spectacular, expecially considering they had no computers or modern stuff to film it with. I've read a book on the making of it, and it was incredible how they accomplished stuff. I can't believe there is some one in the US who hasn't seen it:)...it should be required:)
